Ok, question, I apologize if it’s really ignorant. Is there any reason none of you are swapping out the buttons for transparent ones with the art in the them? All the TE templates i’m seeing are really sick, but I think they’d be even nicer if if you made that swap so there weren’t glaring holes in the work. Is that not doable, or is there some other reason most people aren’t doing that?

This is what i’m talking about:

I think it’s just dependent on the art. I’m still deciding on the buttons to use for my own TE but I won’t be using clear buttons because the buttons are just covering some paint splatters.

That’s what I mean.

But seriously, now I’m reconsidering it.

Accel Core that design doesn’t exactly beg for clear buttons. But drawings that take up the whole template - those definitely benefit from them.

Oh, I know that, I just like those clear buttons.

Toreus: Like Accel Core said, it depends on the art. I used to be a huge fan of clear buttons too, but now I am going more towards functionality and professionalism rather than design. Plus, not all designs look better with it.

Based on Accel’s reply, I think I have a better idea. That pic he posted is a good example of one that really wouldn’t need the clear buttons.

Thanks for the feedback!

these are amazing…

I got to say, the artwork here is top notch, bar none. Each one I see is really making me want to pull the trigger and get a custom one.

RE: The clear buttons, I think there is something nostalgic about the buttons. Although I think the artwork you showed went very well with the clear.

where else can i get like a lamilabel type print if my city doesnt have a kinkos anywhere near?

Damn that’s hot. Nice and simple. Do you happen to have a Hrap1/T5 template for that?

Because I would love to steal that artwork… If it’s cool. Otherwise I’m going to make one myself that’s similar.

Looking forward to putting an akuma piece on my joystick

Here is the artwork I’m going to put on my custom arcade stick (made it myself). The case is coming in today (bought from Kaytrim) but now have to wait for my parts from LizardLick (joystick, octagonal restrictor plate and Cthulu board) and Akihabara Shop (buttons):

Here’s the art I’m putting on my Hori EX2…I was gonna put a border round it but I’m still undecided. Opinions? any tips on how I can improve it?

Depends on art like others said but I like Sanwa buttons (which don’t currently offer clear buttons) over Semitsu.

@ Toreus: generally better to say “most of you” instead of “none of you” I was one of the first guys to post a SE stick and it has clear in the art buttons

Right o, here are my efforts, don’t know if I’ll go ahead with it, TE stick comes in April but would have replaced all the parts with Sanwa buttons by then anyways. And if I replace the art stick and buttons I can’t resell the SE stick. Worried I’ll screw up the art mod:

Munta I love those hot color schemes. Nobody else’s art looks like that yet.

Cheers man, now in Real life:

Got the inspiration and material from that cool SF4 PDF Capcom released.

Looks very good Munta… Except I’m not sure why you left the white circles in the art before printing. Not a big deal though.
