Since most of the SuperGuns I have been building lately use UD-USB for ease, my way forward on the matching side for SuperGuns is to keep the DB15 since there are many more NEO-GEO controllers and custom controllers that use that pinout. However, making the male version of this accessible as a standard could be use for those wanting to DIY their builds and make use of all of the extras.

The PCB comes from a Horipad One Xbox One Controller and Horipad 4 FPS Plus PS4 Controller. FYI, the Horipad 4 FPS Plus controller is not common ground but putting together some electronic components will overcome that. The Xbox One controller PCB has been completely stripped and the analogs has been neutralized with resistors. For the PS3/PS4 controller PCB, I have transfer most of the features (except for the so called “Target” button) and is all elegantly placed onto the project box.
I’ve been scouring these threads for the past 2 months and made an account today after finishing most of my first arcade stick mod and accompanying project box.
I had this OG Xbox controller lying around with a lot of the casing broken and shattered, including one of the triggers, due to a bad fall so I decided it would make a good candidate for my first attempt at a project box.
I popped out the giant xbox logo out of the controller and just glued it on top
standard DB-25 connector
It’s not much of a looker on the inside, but it works
bunch of wires soldered to the memory card sections, in case I want to add memory card mounts in the future
I haven’t cut out the slot for the connector on the stick itself yet, but most of the rewiring inside is already done.
I was thinking on using a UD-USB to whatever pcb project boxes with db25s as the connectors between the two pcbs. This would make a future proof stick config pretty much, until one pcb dies lol. Example: Madcatz SE Ps3 to UD-USB via usb to Brook UFB via DB25 cord to console of choice via Brook UFB usb.
The project box setup is done. Since the original xbox uses USB I could just have the cable piggyback from the existing RJ-45 setup. Any possible future project boxes for non-USB systems would have to feature their own cables.
