Seriously, there was a match between Buri (Bryan) and ? (Bruce) @ SBO semis I believe, took place at Temple Grounds stage, the one that has the day/night change. Can’t find a Youtube link anymore but I hope someone can find it. That was an epic fucking match right there.

Going to Repost my thoughts here:
I agree with Chen 100%.
Match of the year means to me two players playing out of their mind.
Believe in Mike Ross is basically Mike doing an okie doke Ultra that didnt work in the FIRST ROUND and is why he lost that round. He did the same stupid setup again (safe headbutt->ultra) and this time it worked.
Liston vs Kensou is an OMG wtf moment, but it wasnt game related at all, and the skill shown wasnt of the highest level.
Sabre vs Valle was just Valle getting bodied by a console character he didnt know how to fight. If Sabre didnt miss the links in the first fight, the match would have been a complete scrape. Valle played like total ass.
Daigo vs Iyo was epic and has several OMG moments. However, it is 4 of 7 rounds, which is twice as long as a normal match. It came down to clutch b/c both players were so good, not b/c of choking.
Even then, should it be allowed?
I need to do some more research to find my nomination.
