SHO RYU KEN spelling

Seriously, WOW @ this being a thread

The main point is, there’s a good chance that the same people arguing about about the pronunciation are most likely pronouncing it wrong as well, and in a way more wrong if that’s even possible. Reminds me of the commentators during SC4 arguing about the pronunciation of Okizeme, and all of them had it wrong and only one person was like “who cares, just call it oki.”

this is an important topic that must be discussed.

English is known for having odd pronunciation of words. Threw sounds that same as through / there, their and they’re / rain, rein and reign…etc

The language is infamous for breaking it’s own rules when it comes to spelling and pronunciation. So to anyone complaining or who think they are the only people who know how something sounds, especially when it was translated from one language to another that has nothing in common with the first, choke.

As for the tool bag who complained about Seth calling moves different things, choke harder. Describing the action in an interesting way is part of good commentary. It keeps things interesting so that it doesn’t sound like a computer just calling out precisely what is happening in only the most technical terms.

According to you sports announcers should never use descriptive speech ever again. A pass is a pass, never a bomb down field. The ball is hit resulting in a home run, it is never smashed outta the park. He always got hit by a left hook, never an incredibly powerful punch from the left hand that he didn’t see coming.

In regards to the Roo thing. Only problem with hearing Roo is it makes me want Dunkaroos. Mmmmmmm sugar cookies and sugar paste.

Yeah that’s pretty much how I feel. Nothing wrong with trying to pronounce it the right way, but if you can’t then just call it something you can pronounce, haha.

It’s “irks”.

Personally, I hate when it when I go to my friends house, and his wife catches his dish washer on fire and then we have to put it out with a fire extinguisher.

As for Roo/Reyu/Ryu, I chuckled whenever Seth said Roo. It was a nickname given to him from people who cant say his name right.

have some japan

We live in a very cosmopolitan world these days what with all the data flowing back and forth through the intertubes

If you let the way people pronounce things get on your nerves, you’ll end up in a downward spiral resulting in paying for a premium membership on an internet forum not to support the community, but rather to punish those members of said community who irritate you

Nah, none of you guys get it.

Seth was talking about a totally different fighter.

It’s rYUU, not weeaboo!:annoy:

It’s a French name. He’s French-Canadian.

Someone just has to make crappy threads like this.

…Oh, this thread is fucking stupid. But it reminded me of how many kids I grew up with that pronounced (Ninja) Gaiden like “Gay-den.”

I had a feeling it was spelled wrong.

i just thought he said it because it was less syllables than ryu making it easier to say. but this is defiantly not thread worthy.

and you 09ers wonder why the community hates you so much… sigh
