I play guys whose points are close to 20k, 15k, and i wonder how they get those points?? i’m struggling to get 5k, and they beat me with the stupidest game…The other day against skyakuma i played the lamest way possible and get blown away and perfected twice in a match!!! i was like… did i miss something here?? played mi best friend who plays balrog (yes climaxter you know him) and he beats me the simplest way you can get beaten, he mixups high and lows and i was almost throwing my arcade stick because i was doing it late or lagging… fuck it i’m not playing this game for a couple of days and play need for speed where i think i’m good…</span></font></div><div><font face=“Arial, Verdana” size=“2”><span style=“line-height: normal;”>rants ends</span></font></div></div>

OK so this sums up your post “<span style=“color: rgb(34, 34, 34); background-color: rgb(250, 250, 250);”>but for no reason i dont apply what i practice in the actual match”. Ok, see the thing is I had a hard time doing this for a while too but I eventually figured it out. You have to break it down into sections. You cant just practice and take EVERYTHING you learned and try to apply it all at once. Theres so much to remember that its just not possible. Ok, so, what you have to do go into training, work on a few things but just pick ONE to actually work on in a real match. This relates to both meta game stuff and executional things. So I would take a week and work on AA…just AA’ing. Play matches in endless and strictly work on this, forget about everything else. After about a week you’ll learn what you can AA and what you cant and it becomes muscle memory. See thats something simple…something harder to incorporate is looking for patterns. Go into endless, take a whole week, play and just block, read your opponent and look for his patterns. Watch his strings and see if he goes cr.lp, cr.lp, cr.mp, hado or does he use a cr.mk where cr.mp would be…or does he do two cr.lp’s and do a crossup attempt because he knows we have bad overhead AA options…or does he do try and frame trap you…what does he cr tech with?..or full screen does he diagonal jump over hados or neutral jump…does he even KNOW about frame traps…can he reaction ultra to something you’re doing…its alot but this is data you have to suck in all while playing and running your own gameplan and thats the hard part. You focus on what you need to do so much that its difficult trying to take in what your opponent is doing. EVERYONE has had that aha moment watching a replay of a match they lost and saying “He did every single time I did this and I didnt pick up on it?”. Just take a while and really work on blocking and looking for your opponents patterns. Once you figure it out you can exploit them.</span><div><span style=“color: rgb(34, 34, 34); background-color: rgb(250, 250, 250);”><br></span></div><div><span style=“color: rgb(34, 34, 34); background-color: rgb(250, 250, 250);”>Take another week and work on reactions, strictly reactions. Go into endless and work on hp and mp palming through fireballs on reaction. The way my reactions got better was fighting up close. I took a while and did not throw a single fireball. The start of the match I would walk up to my opponent and just cr block in sweep range. I tried to poke and focus and see what pokes worked where and what didnt. This helped my reactions because when you’re that close you HAVE to see stuff coming…you have to block block strings, frame traps, constant crossup attempts. I’m telling you, do this for about a week or two and your reactions will get way better. If you can react to a honda headbutt mid screen then you’ve made it. While we’re on reactions, take another week and just Ultra shit. Ultra everything you can on reaction. Our fireball recovery is so good that we can ultra everything coming over (U1). Just take a while and work on reaction Ultra’ing things like Abels EX Heel Kick, Jaguar Kicks, Cannon Drills, Hooligan Flip, Spin Knuckle, reaction Ultras to our own palm, Blankas who like to ball from mid screen like it cant be punished…dont try to block it and Ultra…try to ultra, if you use Ultra 2 face a Ryu or Sagat and work on reactionary Ultra’ing fireballs from mid screen a la Infiltration vs Ryan Hart. </span></div><div><span style=“color: rgb(34, 34, 34); background-color: rgb(250, 250, 250);”><br></span></div><div><span style=“color: rgb(34, 34, 34); background-color: rgb(250, 250, 250);”>(Sigh) I say all that to say that you have to break it up. You cant just work on 10 things and try to apply ten things at the same time. Alot of it is muscle memory and alot is meta. Gouken has so many things he can do and so many approaches that I forget to do certain things myself sometimes. We can jump in cr.lpx3 (block string) and overhead…works everytime because we’re pushed out so far that they dont think overhead will hit. But I’m always so focused on frame trapping or throwing when in close that I forget to do this. But you incorporate things like this into your game and it just makes you that much more dangerous. Your opponent wont know what you’re gonna do next and that freaks anyone out. Just take your time Martinez, break it down, incorporate one thing at a time spending about a week or two on each and it’ll come. </span></div>

<p class=“MsoNormal” style=“margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;”><span style=“font-size:10.0pt;font-family:“Arial”,“sans-serif”;
mso-fareast-font-family:“Times New Roman”;color:#222222;background:#FAFAFA”>Once
you can consistently make your opponent scared of you it opens doors to
everything else. If you can U2 a Ryu fireballs mid screen, whats gonna happen?
He’s gonna stop throwing fireballs because he’s scared. Whats Ryu without
fireballs? Dead. Once you look for patterns on your opponent and find out they
cr tech with cr lk…you start doing jump ins, cr.lp and lp kongo. Whats gonna
happen? They’re gonna be so scared to cr tech that you can throw them. Once you
start throwing them they wont be able to cr tech and will start doing shit like
backdashing or reversal’ing. So just one time or two do a jump in cr.lp and
just block. This lets your opponent know that blocking is an option for you too
and what will happen? They get scared to do anything and will just block. You
have opened the door to backthrow Ultra. MAKE your opponent guess, MAKE your
opponent scared. It’ll come bro. </span><span style=“font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;”><o:p></o:p></span></p>

=(

GG’s last night Lummy!! I’ll be on again tonight bro if you wanna run some more.

Also GG’s Martinez! Dude kicked you after a while for some reason.

thanks bro, unfortunately for me it’s getting to the point when if i make one mistake, just danm one, the rounds go and the match right after… apparently the lobby leader didn’t liked me when i played against him, but fuck him, i went to another lobby and practice on my AA and thank you hommie for all the advices, they really helped me, and it seems that i have to play PERFECT against you!!! lol at least i’m not mad now, i just now my weakness and i’m trying to resolve them!!!

Lol yeah he really really didnt like you for some reason. Shit, he borderline didnt like me. I’ve never heard so much complaining in my life. “my sticks not working” “so gouken can do this and you just cant do nothing about it” “but I threw!!” “yeah, mash kongo”. I ended up sending him a message about it and he calmed down saying he meant no harm. Then he called me a turtle so I went ham…dont think he got a round for like an hour after that.

No problem on the advice man. I’m always down to help. I’ll be on tonight again if you wanna spar again.

I don’t wanna make a thread for it, but I believe this is as general as it gets for a “general discussion” topic. I just made a neat drawing you guys may find useful (and fun) for future gouken discussion: AOS-’ Art Dump

So my roommate has a Xbox and he said I can use it, but because I’m not familiar with it I wanna know if I create an account I have to pay for the gold membership, his membership expired already so if I get the membership it will work for both of us??

I don’t see why the access to online would be restricted to user accounts on the same console. I’ve never used a 360 so I don’t actually know.

You can use it on multiple consoles, just remember your password so you can access it from wherever using the import account option.

It is though. But you can use the account on many consoles, as long as its the main active account you can go online.

ggs last night takin, sorry i left mid battle. i had a phone call to take.

i’ll be on xbl in a few like 6-630 eastern time. i really need some practice.

Ggs yesterday coded. Always fun going against you.

Ggs as always Sun, wish i had more time to play as well
