Shia LeBouf on Indiana Jones:"We botched the last Indiana Jones"

Well, I think Spielberg wanted to make sure that Temple of Doom wasn’t the worst of the series by putting out KOTC. Temple of doom has the awesome win that is Short Round and the awesome fail that is Willie both at once; really now what the fuck?

yes it was extraordinary shitty…

He’s been ‘tapped’ by Steven Spielberg to be the next big thing apparantly.

Personally, it wasn’t him that ruined Indy 4, it was Spielberg and Lucas. They made it a fucking kiddy movie, full of groundhogs and magical nuke proof fridges.

The ant scene seemed to be a ripoff of the 2nd movie, except they used CGI instead of real bugs (btw real bugs are 100000000x creepier than cgi bugs, any day).

The biggest problem was going from religious aspects, to fucking aliens. Every Indy movie, if he didn’t save the day, the world was doomed. Yet in Indy 4, he could easily have just let the Soviets have the skull, and fucked off and went home, and the Russians would STILL have lost to the aliens at the end. There was no real crisis to be honest.

I find it funny the Beef has admitted that both his last two movies sucked ball sack.

Crystal Skull was fucking awful and at least he’s being honest. For that, I tip my hat to him. I don’t wear a hat but you know what I mean. The poor guy gets blamed for every bad movie he’s in when it’s not completely his fault. Transformers sucked because it involved too much dumbass humor and too much time spent on the humans (instead of focusing on the robots which is what we care about). Regardless of who played Shia’s role, it would have been horrid. Same goes for Crystal Skull. His character was simple stupid and anyone playing it would have made the movie bad.

KoTC had a very religious aspect; it just so happens that the culture being looked at did not have a worship of things the U.S. might traditionally associate with religion. But many things went wrong with KOTC that did not include the aliens. One very odd thing to me was how clean everything was in the movie. Same problem with the Episode movies, the overuse of CGI makes the set look unreal. Indy needs to be dirty and the places have to look a bit like they suck ass to be there to get the right feel. Didn’t get that from the movie.

i also had the problem they overdid the ‘i am too old’ shit in the movie. How can I root for a guy who keeps whining about how old he is, and how old all his friends are, and shit. I kept waiting for him to just build a porch and start drinking lemonade and going to bed at 3pm

This movie was just as disappointing to me as the Jurassic Park sequels. Coincidentally they are from the same director. Now don’t get me wrong I LOVE the old Indy movies and the original Jurassic Park, but yeah KoCS was a perverted attempt for profit which painfully ended the series. I agree with Pertho when he explains the CGI…this movie should have used less CGI… it wasn’t like LoTR which had thousands of fighters on the screen at once. It was also too clean as mentioned…you are supposed to admire Indy for being in these shit storms and coming out on top.

And oh boy, his biker renegade son… talk about a character that completely ruined the script by himself. Man he was such a stupid and worthless character. When I walked out of the theater that was the first thing that I was thinking: the son character ruined the movie.

How ironic that the real-life actor is saying the same thing… Or is it just obvious?

hes fucking speilburg and micheal bay.

KotC sucked, but it wasn’t Shia’s fault. He played his character well enough and even amused me from time to time. But its nice that he can admit, “Ok yeah, that movie sucked ass”

Speilberg is gonna be pissed.

Not really considering he didn;t really want to do the movie in the first place. Lucas is the one whose gonna be pissed.

The best movie that Shia was in was Constantine and that’s only because he died a random and hilarious death after making one of his trademark stupid faces.

Senor Speilbergo pulled out after numero two. However, the second one kinda sucked, so yeah.
By the third one, I got tired of raptors (soooo many better dino’s to use…like Deinonychus). BTW, they’re doing a new trilogy. It’s a shame the author died while writing the last Jurassic Park book. Curious to see if they will still pillage it (hey, its Hollywood)

Simply put, do NOT let two directors work together on a film, especially when both have a great track record of babying their movies now that they’re daddies. The movie suffered from waaaay too many problems. It didn’t try to be the next Indy movie, it tried to be THE Indy movie, and that was the biggest problem. Like I said, I hated the fact the story didn’t seem to matter (or make sense) far too often.

Look at the first movie. He has that battle with the sword weilding dude, and improvised (Harrison Ford had the runs or something, and did it as a joke, and Spielberg loved it) a pulled out gun murder, which was awesome. In CGI and nowadays, scenes are so well setup that actors don’t get that kinda ‘inspiration’ (i’ve heard some CRAZY stories about the Predator set from Jessie Ventura when I was in his NBC movie).

I would have changed the nuke scene to have the bomb dud. Would have made WAAAAAY more sense than lead fridge heated up to SEVERAL MILLION degrees and launched by 1000 mph winds saving the day.

u know what? Didn’t mind the Beef. I understand Hollywood wants to take certain 20th century franchises into the 21st century. A new indy could work, and I wouldn’t exactly die if it was him (consider the alternatives). My problem was 90% the script. The other 10% was age jokes (too sitcomy), overuse of CGI (mostly the ants and monkeys and groundhogs, and even the aliens), and TERRIBLY UNSATISFYING ENDING. Shouldn’t have really spent so much time implying Shia was his protege, we’re not stupid.

he said the same about Transformers 2. Are you gonna really argue that he’s wrong lol??? I’d rather he admit the movie licked balls.

They’ve already said they wanna do one more, cuz they felt bad about the fourth ‘movie’. I have a little faith they will do it right.

Would be cool to have one more Indy movie. Yea Crystal skulls not perfect, I like it about as much as Temple of Doom. it entertains but I do think they could really do it right with one more, in much the same way they struck gold with Last Crusade. I mean it’s really debatable as to which is better Raiders or Crusade and that’s the mark of a good movie honestly.

raiders

i want to hear the jesse ventura predator stories!!

going to bed right now, but lets just say everybody got sick as fuck and maria loves being nekkid in waterfalls

oh and JCVD is FUCKED
