She's a Fixxer upper: SSF4 Rose Fixxes

They meant to move all of the new character threads to the new character forums and leave the old character threads in the super forum, but somehow they messed up and deleted Rose’s thread. That’s what it looks like to me…cause like, looking through my own posts, none of them from that thread are listed.

I guess its good to have another combo option with reflect ,FADC, ST but even without scaling it will always do less damage than spark, FADC, c.lp, drll. I guess the untechable KD is the bonus there.

Ok so i get the right in that video they used ex reflect and ST, but we dont need to do that do we? can just reflect into St?

I don’t think so. In vanilla, the opponent already begins falling once Reflect is out of recovery, and I don’t think any changes for Reflect have been made for SSF4.

I heard that you can do Reflect into Soul Throw in the corner without Focus Attack Dash Cancel. I don’t have a video or anything like that, but it sounds like it will be good to know since she had similar capabilities in Street Fighter Alpha 3.

You can do reflect FADC ST anywhere. This vid shows it around 4:35.

From what the data seems to have said, Soul Throw now does 160 damage :]

You could probably do the math yourself. Depends on the combo;
For example if it’s: hp > hpReflect > (FADC) > U1
That would be;
= 90 + 50 + 6[83(70%)]
= 140 + 6(58)
= 140 + 348

= 488

But I doubt you would be able to land that combo since you need to be super close. More realistically, you would include a focus attack to begin with or a cross-up;

FAlv2 > hp > hpReflect > (FADC) > U1
= 100 + 90(80%) + 50(70%) + 6[83(50%)]
= 100 + 72 + 35 + 6(42)
= 207 + 252

= 459

crossup j.mk > close s.hk > lpSpark > FADC > c.lp > hpReflect > (FADC) > U1 :0
= 60 + 100 + 80(80%) + 40(70%) + 50(60%) + 6[83(40%)]
= 160 + 64 + 28 + 30 + 6(33)

That’s some good and correct math Cinnamonz. It was only after experimenting with rog that I learned that an Ultra juggle counts as two hits instead of one, further decreasing the meter and thus only hitting at 80% of it’s strength max.

I se both you and Saqs listing a C LP after a Spark FADC, is that the safer (and preferred) choice? I’m still trying hard to get the C MP xx LP spark FADC, C MP xx drill going, but it’s too unreliable for me to hit the C MP in time. I guess C LP gives you one frame extra… didnt saqs even use a C HP/S HK as followup after FADC? I know you can do it after a MP spark FADC.

C.lp is the only way to connect a HP reflect.

I rarely do spark fadc cmp spiral though… connecting a spark is rare for me lol

Thanks xD I took a bit of time figuring how the scaling works by using Rose’s Training mode infinites and how Ultra and FA affects scaling, then I found out it was all on Eventhubs :expressionless:

But yeah, what Luffy said. MP knocks them too far away for any Reflect to hit. I’ve gotten the mp link down ever since I learned how to plink, do you plink? I used to go by timing and got it usually, but then it became even easier when I started plinking. I actually prefer MP over c.LP because I can’t plink c.LP and usually end up missing :0

And do c.HP/s.HK really connect? I’ve never seen it happen. I guess I should test it out.

I use c.lp because its easier. Especially online S.HP will only work after EX Spark, FADC.

It is quite a shame that Rose is underplayed. I have a feeling she still going to be underplayed even with the buffs.

Also I’m thinking if we can combo into Ultra 1 now I think they’ll lower the damage on it. Seeing as most other characters fadc ultra’s have been toned down as well.*

Rose was never a very popular character. I don’t really even see her played that much in Street Fighter Alpha 2 where she stands among the best characters in the game.

Well, I for one hope she WILL be underplayed. I like having the surprise factor, or just being unique in general.

Yeah it seems like every Rose player including me likes the fact that she’s underplayed.

I like the underplayed aspect but it would be nice to see her represented more and have enough of a community to even get a match ups thread.
