I’d have to go with Kazama in a street fight. A heat action if his is putting nails in a dudes mouth then punching them. I’m pretty sure in beast mode I took a street transformer and smashed a dude with it.
In an actual karate match Ryo might take it as he has a life of disciplined martial arts training behind him. If Justice Kazzy killed his dad though Ryo might just burn the orphanage in Oki down.

Yea it just might depend on how pissed off Ryo is at the time of the fight, dude can be pretty apathetic about shit when he’s not emotionally invested.
I like both characters almost equally. Hell, i pretty much consider them brethren.
Kiryu has a harder fuggin’ skull tho.

All right, bros. I absolutely adored Shenmue. I never got around to playing Shenmue 2, but did get in on this Kickstarter. I neither own a copy of Shenmue 2, nor an Xbox or Xbox 360. I really like Let’s Plays and figured that’d be a good primer before 3 comes out later this year. There are a number of them on YouTube… anybody watched one that they really enjoyed?
The way I prefer they go about this is just though good story telling, you can recollect on past events naturally in the story ether with dealing with NPC’s or though the main characters internal monologue as you progress.
Enough to clue new players in and they would not be lost while getting a nod from fans of the series as you bright up some nostalgia.
A in game Primer or Encyclopedia kinda ruins the experience as it just clutters the game.
SuperGoGoMan has the best Shenmue Lets Plays imo. He’s really thorough, has a funny dry wit, and is honest about the games and the series.

For a moment i kind of forgot how Kiryu, while being shot twice in chest and abdomen, still fought and won against a physically superior opponent.
I don’t think Ryo would manage something like that. At the same time tho Ryo DID take down someone like x3 his size (Dou Niu).
But again… We did say 1988 Kiryu tho and that is before his back tattoo was completed, which seemingly almost makes him seem immortal. Also i don’t think it’s a unreasonable thing to say thay Kiryu faces his toughest opposition when he is in fact the dragon of dojima.

LOL, Ryo’s hair is already a dangerous af weapon.
It will be a very long time before Ryo would get there yeah. Kiryu is a Legend in several places. And what’s to say he keeps going and has other major enemies after Lan Di to keep being tested and have any reason to get stronger and keep going after his current life’s mission might be over with. That path could end for him only with Lan Di, as its probably not like he was a part of any big criminal organization with lots of clashes for power with tons of guys on his level, all crossing him as much as Lan Di did.
How would that workout:

Kiryu fights everybody, seemingly every big name in his life as a yakuza. Also the caged deathmatches in the underground arena, as canon, plus if he wants to stay in shape and rank up points down there. Walking away a Champion of Purgatory how many years in a row. Then in pursuing other things (Kamurocho Hills Construction area once) guys he beat there, he runs across again. Always connected by being a top draw, top ranked fighter down there.

Ryo watched that lady step on toes and a guy fall into a ‘bottomless pit’ during that construction Kowloon fight club tiny platform in the center, forgot if he fought there even once.
