They did not mention if the RCF was any faster though. Still, the RCF will be faster since we can now use the medium version.

I actually hope they don’t give him 1050 health. It would not make sense in my world. I’d rather they just let some of his claw normals do more damage. I believe standing HP should do at least 130, perhaps 150 even.

Anyway, these changes seem really good, and I can’t wait to use Claw in SSF4.

They said they’ve given him an overall increase on startup invulnerability frames so we’ll see.

The theme’s a little slower than I expected considering everyone else’s themes, but it sounds like his hyper fighting one so I’m content.

Apparently they banned him at knucklez’ tourney the one they have every weekend at his friend’s house.

Im at work, but what i heard of the theme was allright.

The vega buffs sounds good to me, i mean vega has got nothing but positive changes.
We can punish dumb stuff with ultra ALOT easier now… we can alleviate the eternal (well teching) downback people a little bit with the overhead.
We apperantly get better specials… less penalty for equipment loss and it takes longer to lose it, apparantly a change to our “vitality” even with our equipment on (be it stun or health).

Meanwhile when u take look at our bad match ups:

Guile: sunglasses
blanka: shorter roll and ultra 2 wich the developers seem to like for random ultraing.
sagat: 100hp less, less damage on tu and tk… unless he wants to use bar.
zangief: 100hp less, less damage on green hand, worse st.strong, worse lariat, worse jumps , good new ultra.
rufus: less damage
Cammy: dunno her changes.
Honda: dunno
Dictator: i dont think his psychocrusher or new ultra will affect Vega all to much…more antifireball stuff.

Then there is the fact that Capcom wants the games to be over in more then 2 correct guesses… that means people will have to catch Vega more often then in vanilla!
The only one im more scared of in super , from the changes i glanced over is Chun Li… the kikosho ultra will make her even worse to fight i believe.

Oh well , maybe my optimism is ungrounded…do all the changes made really make people sad?

I agree with the Chun-Li match being tougher for Vega than before in Vanilla but I’m also pretty sure that Akuma, Dudley, Makoto and Ibuku will be as tough or even tougher. The 4 most offensive heavy characters in SSF4 against the most defenseless :*(

And i can understand hp rcf not having full block stun…but at least give EX the block stun =/

But i do think that the overhead is okay though, since the range on it is really wide.

God Damn, usually when people go through tragedy together, they become closer. All you Vega players need to stop hating each other cause everyone else already doubts you guys.

You don’t understand that free jump-ins on Vega mean 10 times more than what they mean against anyone else.

When you get a “free” jump-in on Shotos, they can crouch-tech or mash SRK durring your strings. They block your SRK > FADC = you’re safe. You hit with SRK > FADC > Ultra/EX-FB/etc.

You get a free jump-in on Vega, he is constantly being put in a bad position.

  1. Every time you block, focus, or tech he’s getting that much closer to losing his equipment.
  2. You backdash. Get punished with OS, you safely backdash (putting yourself closer to the wall).
  3. Cannot mash anything.

You cannot compare how free jump-ins are on Vega to anyone else. That only proves you have no idea what you’re talking about.

I’d like to mention one thing on the translation Azrael posted.
When the dev blog post mentioned “???” about Claw, Azrael translated it as “adjusting his vitality”, but I would translate it as “adjustment in overall”. Azrael is better than me in translating stuff, though, so I could be wrong, but I just don’t understand how his vitality would suddenly change when his claw and mask fall off.

I wonder if by saying “We’ve also increased the invulnerability periods on all his special moves” they mean instant air properties. Can probably still be air thrown out of Scarlet Terror, though. =(

Currently his health/vitality/stamina changes when he loses his mask (doesn’t he go down to Seth tier?). So I’m assuming that in SSF4 he will still lose some stamina, but the loss won’t be as severe. Maybe he’ll go down to 950 instead.
