I donā€™t get the fascination with bad fighting games of the past. As an old fart, I can tell you Shaq Fu was horrible back when it first came out, and while you might get some camp laughs, your rose colored glasses are going to fall off quickly.

Unpopular opinion but I felt Shaq Fu could have been a decent game. I remember playing Shaq Fu online on SNESX and realizing that there was somewhat of a footsie, metagame, rushdown and ā€œlameā€ aspect to certain characters. It wasnā€™t as brain dead as most thought and did have some competitiveness to it besides mashing. The game just lacked depth in graphics, gameplay and game engine mechanics. If someone implemented a few characters revamped in a versus series that would have been cool.

If I remember correctly, the game had horrible hitbox/hurtbox detection, certain moves where too safe (beast roar) and had unblockables, the genisis version was superior because it had more chars

I mean its a fighting game starring a basketball player, whats not to love? its original and unique

do you guys even know that an all basketball fighting game mvc3 style could work (see street series)
