They’re going to change it to be closer to the original apparently. Gave some excuse for why it was like that in the video, don’t remember what it was, something to do with the game backgrounds or something not too believable.

In the kickstarter comments they said that none of the character models have been finalized yet and usually leave her design up to the artist.
I like this series, and will donate, but no one’s getting a dime until she gets her melanin back.

In mexico shantae got a lot of hype and was well know thanks to club nintendo (nintendo official magazine)

I also find their color choice of skin baffling. Why change when its always been a darker tone? I’d like to hear their reasoning on it. I bet its stupid.
