Hopefully Mike’s special tongue can handle rapadura. xP
Man, there are so many brazilians at srk lately, I remember the time when there was only 3 lol.

Is anyone going to put out new trailers for the characters that have the old HUD and hit counter?
I don’t care as long as they are cancelable.

YES. When 1p calls drones, 2p calls psylocke and does a whirlwind all at once, I LOVE THAT.
I abuse it with parasoul bnb into sniper then dhc into painwheel lv3 (which feels like it has a slowdown on it’s own) which gives me enough time to look under my stick* where I wrote a cheat sheet of all my combos!**
*I’m hella exaggerating for comedic purposes, if you’re super freaked out about frame data or smthng, it feels very good and mvc2-ey at worst.
**I don’t really do that.
P sure this was asked already, but don’t forget assists too! My only beef with preset teams is it spoon feeds you those interface actions. When you go to a tournament you don’t have those things handy, then you gotta remember where their portraits are on the screen/find your palette, then when you do your custom assists, you get blown up when it takes you 3 attempts to do a flash kick*
*I really do that.
I don’t believe this really. In Marvel 3 on day zero, we realized that Doom Missiles and Plasma Beam would go on to be essential utility assists, along with drones. We realized who was near the bottom of the tier list very early. I’ve yet to hear a good reason why not to discuss it, it’s going to have to happen eventually, and regardless if it’s a day in, a month in, or 3 months in, some people are going to say it’s too soon. Just don’t participate in the discussion. It’s a competitive fighter, we should talk about competition and tiers and balance. Not to mention, we all know it’s fun to discuss, debate, and read other people’s opinions on the issue at hand.
Plus if people form rock-solid opinions early that just gives supposed C-tier dwellers more motivation to experiment more and prove the theorycrafters wrong.
That’s because you didn’t have custom assists.
I don’t think we’d need to have the rest of Doom’s moves available as assists to know that Missiles was going to be amazing.
So, does Double have her own voice, or does she crib voice samples from the other characters?

She has her own voice actor for her intro dialogue.
Though, it’s so distorted it could be the other cast members all mashed up. That’d be funky, if unlikely.

Wow, you really ARE a nitpicky person. I approve! If you’re the same Zidane from dustloop and you’re going to that BB thing here on Saturday, I will give you a hug.
Answer to the question: Probably not.
Stressing completely clean motions - this is extremely difficult to do if you aren’t a person sitting next to someone, but we try in the special move tutorials. We’ll do better in the future, I’m sure. For a while I was working on a thing to show your input and explain what you did wrong, for example “you hit the button too early”, but that got pushed aside due to the rest of the game. :^)
Console differences - aside from hardware performance and things like the 360 requiring you to have a profile or other crap that Microsoft/Sony requires, yes the achievements vs. trophies is the only difference. No console exclusive characters, etc.
BANANAS - oh man if anyone can bring me a bunch of Gros Michel bananas from their country, I have been DYING to try those ever since I found out they aren’t what we eat in the U.S. anymore…but they used to be…and they’re supposed to taste amazing.
Saveable teams - it’s on the list, but I honestly don’t think it’s that important. :^S
Double does indeed have her own voice actor, but for things that are moves other characters really use she has that Twelve filter thing going on.
Taunts - Taunts would at the very least be super cancellable, but what they do otherwise would vary per character. I like functional taunts a la 3s, but then you see them getting used for non-taunt purposes and they have an effect on the character’s usefulness (“SHOryuken! SHOryuken! Kakatte Kina.”). Ones that hit are neato, too.
That’s good for tourneys but at home I’m lazy as hell, haha.
I’m no expert but i’m pretty sure unfortunately that it’s kind of tough to bring fruit through customs for environmental reasons.

Yup, I was checking stuff like that, apparently food is hard to bring. Since it’s my first international travel I’m not gonna go for it if it’s too risky. But I’ll see what I can do.
Regardless, my point still stands, there is plenty of stuff we realized week 1 that still is relevant today. Balance and tier talk is inevitable, someone is always going to say it’s too soon regardless of when we start, so it would be silly not to have a thread about it on day 1. If you don’t like it, don’t read it.

Yeah, “Do you have any fruits etc?” is the second thing they ask when you’re going through customs, right after “Are you a terrorist?”.
That is a very nifty idea, would be a nice tutorial feature to get in version N+1.
Being the input proofreader was probably the biggest help I’ve been to beginners learning execution in fighting games: “You forgot to end in forward. Now you ended in up forward. You pressed the button too early.” etc.

Customs asks about fruits, yes, but rarely do they deny them. You just have to declare that you have them. At least in my experience.
And about the week-1 stuff that’s still relevant - that’s confirmation bias. There was plenty of information realized week 1, yes, but MORE of it was determined to be irrelevant later than remained relevant. That is to say, you can figure out some moves are “good” week 1, but which of those good moves are important is not generally not possible to determine week 1.

How did you get a guy to sound like that?
