Is there any cross-up protection with assists? For example, if someone calls an assist and teleports to the other side before it hits, would the defending player have to block it as a cross-up, or would they be allowed to block both ways?
Sorry to ask again, maybe my question canât be officially answered, but maybe it just got lost in the thread.
As a UK player, what will I have to do to get this game on release? Why does digital distribution require a new or separate company to âreleaseâ it on the internet? I am confuse.
Also, will the menu/HUD/general text be readable on an SDTV or will there be an option to toggle it so it can be?
You always block towards the point character.
BB-style hit info - itâs something weâd like to include via a visual or audio indication so you always get it if you were attempting to block wrong, but it may not make it in right away. (^.^)
Mistress - I am not really the person who should be answering these, which is why I didnât, but Ravidrath is at NYCC so here goes:
I have no idea what you have to do to get it in that magical land called âthe UKâ, sorry. I barely know what you have to do to get it in the US, ever since these newfangled intarnut-enabled game boxes came out. You used to just import the games, which was only mildly illegal. :^)
And as far as I know, regardless of the fact that it is digital, the rules for releasing a DL game on a console are mostly the same as if it were a disc-based game, including licensing for different territories and all that. It doesnât have to do with how easy it is to flip the lever that lets people buy it, the crux of the matter is always who wants to get paid before the lever is flipped. Plus I think the UK version has to be localized first - tyres, colours, âtrouble 'n strifeâ, etc.
^ You say that, but almost every game we get is american style spelling. But you do have to consider other languages in Europe if they were to localize it here since UK is apart of EU and all, so we have to wait until all that is done.
One suggestion, when you do a custom assist thereâs the option to confirm it or not. There needs to be a cursor of some sort as opposes to just highlighting the selection one color.
Is that already in the works?

I dont really think thats a problem. There are a lot of PSN games that arent translated at all. People know english these daysâŚright?
And mikes post makes it sound, as if creating an alternate account with US region is illegalâŚthat cant be right, or can it?
Anyway, i dont think there should be a problem getting the game on release. You can get you OSN cards (and i suppose xbox credits) via various
sides on the internet.
How elso would you play all the cool games taht arent released over here?
On topic:(probably for PR again)
Do you ever plan on releasing skullgirls on a physical medium? Like maybe after all the DLC has been released and you can afford it, because of the unbelievable success you had?
Haha, no, I wasnât implying making another countryâs account is illegal, I was just making fun of the fact that importing physical games was.
And yep, thatâs one for PR. If we have unbelievable success weâll probably try to do something nicer than just re-releasing the game and charging more money for it, at least Iâd hope we would.
So, in recent NYCC vids, after a point character gets defeated, sometimes the next character will dash in instead of jump in. Whatâs up with that?
Itâs a feature Iâm testing - if you are holding D/DF/DB, you can enter dashing after death or a snapback. Itâs useful, but Iâm not sure what I think overall yet.
When will you be uploading a new sampler?
i really like the incoming character mixup a lot, so i donât like this ground dash stuff and it seems weird. especially i feel like its something i earned if i go for a snap
is the incoming character mixup too brutal even without guardbreaks?
How quickly do you get control of your character if they dash in?
- You regain control of the dashing character as soon as theyâre fully onscreen, same as jumping entrance.
- Cerebellaâs antiair throw isnât free on incoming characters, itâs only unblockable if you are ascending in the air. Itâs been that way for a loooong time.
I sort of dislike the free mixup even without guardbreaks, this turns it into a 50/50 and you of course still have options that cover both.
Iâm certainly open to keeping the dash choice after death only, or eliminating it entirely if players really dislike it. Thatâs what testing is for. :^)
[edit] Apparently theyâre streaming SG after MK on the Seasonâs Beatings stream. About 2:20-2:30 PST.
Just an observation, but none of the characters seem particularly fast to me.
Since I usually play with low-health speed types this saddens my mood a little.
I believe that the parasite hair-girl (Filia correct?) looks to be the fastest out of the initial cast. (Which is a bit amusing since sheâs far from the thinnest)
Anyway my question is, Is Filia the fastest or are there much faster characters than her?
Is there a zero chance of Skullgirls making an appearance at Northwest Majors next month?
So I know there wonât be taunts for intial release, but is there any hope for them in the future, as a patch?
Depends on what you mean by fastest. Ms. Fortune gives her a serious run for her money but they both have air dashes, ground dashes, and fast attacks.
Oh itâs probably just me but Filia and Fortune seem like average speed characters. I really want to see someone with a fast teleport or âwarpingâ capability. (Wesker-like stuff from mvc3)
Dude these characters are faster then you think they arenât.
After playing this game for four days I can attest to you that the speed is just right in being fast enough but not outright retarded like X-factor or literal instant overheads like some MvC2 Magneto nonsense.
