Street Fighter x Tekken Notes
General:
- Eight direction, six button control scheme. 2D gameplay.
- Tekken characters will use lp/lk/mp/mk for many of their commands, retaining their gameplay to four main buttons (or face buttons for pad warriors like myself).
- Street Fighter characters will adapt to a new combo system with constant juggle. Imagine SSF4’s floaty state all the time.
- Tekken Tag style. One KO to win rather than elimination. Actual tagging is Tekken Tag style as well (details later).
- Throws are still :lp:+:lk: in one of two directions.
- EX Moves return, still costs one cell.
Tagging:
- :mp:+:mk:
- Can do Tag Cancels out of specials (cost one meter cell?).
- Can do Tag Recoveries, roll out from knockdown and your partner hops in (costs one cell).
Universal Launcher:
- :hp:+:hk:
- Recovery makes it unsafe.
Charging Moves:
- Some moves can be charged to three levels.
- Level 2 is meterless Ex attack. Level 3 is meterless super combo.
- Certain chargeable attacks in SSF4 (Gouken/Sakura fireball) hints at early applications.

I really really hope that the flaws of SF4 won’t transfer over to this game as well.

At first I wasn’t too sure about this game. Still don’t know how I feel about the emphasis on juggling, but it is SF X Tekken, so I can more or less live with it.
The chargable specials thing does seem a bit silly, but hey, I’ve never played it, so I can’t speak on the system’s implimentation.
Pretty much wait and see at this point, I want to see where they go with the roster first and foremost, as that’s what VS games are all about, and I want to see more gameplay, like full matches, but even if the game does come out in October, that’s plenty of time to see where things go.
Any word on whether or not they’ll be input shortcuts in this game?

I wonder if the tekken characters will retain their unblockables in this game?
As for characters, we’ll probably see more at e3, evo, and comic con.
Still…IMO, I think capcom should have gone with a ds/vs sequel or cvs3, and namco should have teamed up with sega (TxVF).
I’m confused.
So far, people are saying this game looks great, but it’s looks nearly identical to SF4, which most people say looks awful.
Also, 1+ for VFvsT. Two peas of the same pod.
sigh Yeah… Would love some CvS3. And Sega even had a working TvsVF build internally. But I guess those would have been obvious. We may still see those one day.
lol People are funny like that. I love the altered look, and I love SF4’s art style anyway. Life’s too short to be a picky little prick about every little thing. It gets to a point when somebody can justly conclude that you don’t don’t seem to like anything. That’s lame.
Because they saw characters easily avoid fireballs. Any game that doesn’t or has the chance of not having strong keepaway is a great game.

the game looks pretty fun. Like Street Fighter with Tekken Juggles and Tekken Tag rules. Can’t wait to see who else gets added. The Tekken characters so far look like they fit really nice with the game mechanic. I guess i’m used to seeing their moves have insane juggle properties. Street Fighter characters…just look weird right now.
Only thing annoying me is the camera shake/effect with every little hit in the game. For me, it makes the game look slow.
Here’s hoping for Team Bison/Hwoarang, something tells me though that some other pairing between franchises is gonna come to fruition in response to this.
It looked like for the tekken characters at least they only had the keyframes of animation in, because some of the animations looked really bad. Also I dont like the way the HUD looks at all. Too colorful and cheezy

Ken’s overhead kick ground bouncing = gdlk… Admittedly, this game is looking a lot more exciting than I originally anticipated.
But uhh… why is everything so… wet… in the cinematics? Water splashing off everything.
isn’t it a bit premature to start your schtick? Though it probably will be an offense oriented game. They’re more exciting that way.

Visually I think the game looks horrible. Especially during fights. I’ve kept my eye on this since it was first revealed. So far it does nothing for me. It could end up being a game I don’t like until I actually sit down and play it though. If they drop a demo at some point on XBL/PSN, I’ll give it a shot.
Juggle system looks interesting this game has potential to be great. People are really way too early to write this game off and its no where close to releasing.
This is the same forum where people wrote off MvC3 off the teaser trailer. The teaser trailer showing scenes of Eps1 and Ryu doing his hyper. They reviewed the game on this.
However, the reaction to this is mostly positive. Surprisingly so.
