I’m just happy that you guys are still allowed the chance to hope for the characters that you want like Mika, Elena, Karin, Cody and Guy, you have the ability to believe that the characters that you want can make it as members of the games cast and being able to be played in all of their divine glory.
Unfortunately for me, I am stuck in the land of those who have given up all hope of seeing their favorite characters make it into the game, with the characters that I wanted in being rejected by Capcom by being overlooked and dismissed (Q), or just plain killed off (Dan)…
I also give my, condolences to those that wanted Anna Williams in this game, I feel terribly sorry for your loss.
On a completely different note, it seems MvC has infested my brain to the point that the only partner I can see Akuma actually having is Wolverine… I think I need serious help.
For some reason I can picture Q in this game as a straight-up troll over “more popular” characters like Mika and Karin. And hey, apparently Dan’s body was never found…
If Dan gets in as a playable character over Mika, Karin, etc then I’ll just laugh because this is a perfect oppontunity to bring Sodom or El suck in to give the game more variety in play and they waste it. I doubt Dan will be in tho as it seems Capcom has chosen Rufus to be the " lead goofy character" this time around.
I am a big Anna fan so I was crazy bummed to see her deconfirmed so early but at least they didn’t let me get my hopes up and I feel many will wish they could say that later when some of these characters ( Urien,Karin,Mika, Elena, Lee) don’t make it in again.
I would love this game to have lots of DLC but I could just see capcom opting to make another disc game instead.
Ono’s said that DLC is more likely than a disc release.
Considering they’re trying to make this game the Smash of traditional fighters (in terms of appeal), updates via DLC only would be the best choice for everyone.
Until Capcom actually follows threw on that promise I and every rational person should take that with a grain of salt. SSF4 was supposed to be the last SF4 but we still have AE and now 2012 ver.
Capcom has always made more versions of series so there is no rational reason to believe they won’t this time as well. A smart marketing team ( and trust me Capcom has a good marketing team) will lie right to your face to sell you any product, the more they know you love a product the more they’ll try to get you to pay.
I wish I could be as optimistic as you are now and I used to be. There’ll be DLC for sure but I’d be shocked if we didn’t see another version. People said the same thing you just did to me about MVC3. Just sayin.
It’s real
A lot of people hate mirror matches, not every mirror match is as good as say Ryu’s in SFIV…
Throwing is already trash in SFxTK, but if it makes a scrub feel better than sure waste a gem on that.
The funny thing about the last one is that any benefit a lower level player can get from gems is something a high level player will put into better practise anyway, X-Factor was suppose to be the great equalizer in MVC3 and higher level players used it better anyway…
What I’m wondering is…if the gems were so important to the fighting engine, why didn’t they you know…bring it up when the game was first announced or shortly after? It’s like Capcom holding off on X-Factor for MvC3 until like TGS or NYCC or something.
That’s actually a very good question. My guess is that they wanted the core of the game to be sound according to the players. They also probably figured that the Gem System wasn’t gonna be received very positively. That, and the system may not have been well defined back then.
