So i went from 0 pp to 3000 pp in a few hours on AE…my secret? Training in a lil ol’ game called SFxT…teaches u blocking, footsie and comprehensive fighting abilities. It can be yours thru this special offer of $19.99 plus tax. (dlc characters sold separately)
I feel the opposite happened to me. My neutral sucked in both games, but after using Rose in AE. My neutral got better especially since her reversal is so crappy. I just learned to wake up and block.
Ouch, what a beating. My lack of Lili knowledge really hurt, jalass’ Nina destroyed her so often, it was so painful.
But SFxT is way more fun with opponents like him, people that acually play and don’t just try to lame it out.
His Nina and Jin are really scary… D:
I feel… “outlamed” pretty often, but outplayed in any possible way? That hard? Urgh.
Outfootsied, outzoned, outeverything’d.
If it wasn’t for the stray EWGFs hitting their targets…
Eh, sometimes playing a character outside of the conventional box works out, which is player-dependant. If it works for him, I’m not one to say “it’s wrong”.
I am one to say I myself wouldn’t do it that way.
B’sides, its not that she can’t play an in-your-face style; she does have decent enough tools to merit it. She’s one of those characters that plays a more “jack of all trades” role (but consequently, master of none).
He’s not exactly trying to play rushdown with Sim here. :-p
That’s definitely true. I think the SF4 Juri thread with all the “rushdown Juri” suggestions biased my opinion. I just feel if you want to rushdown with a sadistic, character who kicks a lot you should play Bryan. ;]
=( I can’t think of another sadistic character who uses kicks and rushes down… I know the players who use Hwoarang are sadist (it’s ok I’ve been there I played CT Nu).
Thing about Vega’s jab link. It’s only “easy” because it’s a short rythym. It’s still a one frame link.
The other thing about it is you have to land it allll the time. Over and over. Consistently.
They’re thinking about making it a 2 frame link in IV and I’m torn on it. Increased hitstun means more consistency. Increased blockstun with it would mean better frame traps and stuff.
However, it hardly changes the character’s capabilities. It’s not making him BETTER. After playing him for years, I’m accustomed to the link. It would be better to get changes that actually address his shortcomings.
As for SFxT. There’s boosting, at least. I guess. … yay.
I dunno, I don’t think the cr.LP being a 1 frame link is that huge of a deal. Most of the good Vega’s I’ve played don’t really rely on point blank hit confirms to get damage. It’s mostly either well-spaced jump-ins, or footsies based safe cross rush chains. Obviously having a consistent cr.LP link would be better, but I think Vega’s strategy is mostly to stay at cr.MP range and slash the hell out of you.
I like characters that can be played in any way. Akuma is a great example: you can’t depend on only one style to win a match, you need to mix it up depending on the situation. Play defensive until you get a knockdown, then pressure. I used to think he was a purely-defensive oki character, but now I think he’s primarily a footsies character (like Rolento, for example).
Ryu is also a hybrid. Footsies first, then fireballs.
