No, sounds good! I’ll probably give it a go and see what’s what in the coming week. Thanks for that!

We will forever disagree on this, methinks. >_>

Hmmm so it seems rok…so it seems.

Turtling when you have the life lead in the last seconds of a match is more about not taking risks that are going to get the match stolen from you. It’s not about losing control so much as it is simplifying the match to “Okay, all I have to do is block correctly and tech throws and I’ll win.”

It’s not always the right decision, sometimes it is better to maintain pressure in order to prevent your opponent from doing anything… but maintaining pressure is risky. Turtling, while not without risk. is much safer.

This may be Street Fighter X Tekken, but it’s still SF at it’s core. Which means you can still turtle, and for me, in certain match ups, when I have the life lead, I turtle and reaction HP SRK to those people who are desperate enough to try and overhead me. You do have a point about pressing on, but it only has to be done in short burst, if you’re a zoner, in my opinion.

Evo did not upload this one so here is that pretty damn dangerous reset into pandora:

I understand backing off for breathing space…then jump back in and finish the job.

Heck yes Balrog hit confirm into buffalo head: Cl. Hk , cr. Lp , far st. Lp xx mp buffalo head.

326 damage and cl. hk is +3 on block.

So the game comes tomorrow, very excited for it actually, been watching some of the recent major matches including the last tfc matches.

I’m going to start off with Ryu/Ken until I get the hang of the game. Are there any duos in the game that are canon teams and good? I know Chun is top tier, is cammy any good? My main in sf4 is sagat but I ain’t using Sim. I also used King/Marduk in ttt2, but I have no idea how good those two are in this game.

JurixBison, RyuxKen, Chun-LixCammy are good official teams.

Elena/Dudley, Nina/Kazuya and Law/Paul are my personal picks. After TFC, Poison/Hugo might not be as bad as I thought. I could also see Sagat/Dhalsim being pretty damn good in the right hands.

I just tried this with Elena’s EX Mallet Smash… 632 damage without gems. Damn, that feels nice.

Almost makes me want to do Elena/Hugo - hell, that was even an official tag team in SF3: Second Impact called Beauty and The Beast.

If Hugo has a way to force stand for a tag-in, I might actually give it a real shot. I feel like forcing stand is too good for her not to have on a partner.

Yes, I reached black belt in Kyokushin under Sensei Owen before I moved states. I’ve done boxing / kickboxing through fitness gyms for most of the last five years, I don’t compete in it though like I used to in karate. I’d like to try compete MMA at some point in the future but I can’t find any avenues near where I live.

Kyokushin? Oh shit, dude. You gotta teach me how to do 100% stun combos and Haou Shikoukens.

I see…interesting.

So the usual online shenanigans, went up to this guy that lost to me 2-3 times no biggie.

4th time or so i started seriously disrespecting his Jin, I fucked up so bad that I had to hold a double perfect rofl. Yoshimitsu was on point the whole time.

He messaged me “WHERES THE BEAR”

I messaged back “He went to beary Yoshimitsu”

It was worth the disgrace

Daigo just blew up Infiltration 10 - 2 at the Madcatz Unveiled exhibition held at Tokyo Gameshow.

All hail god Umehara.

I still think Daigo is pulling some Dragon ball Z bullshit recently.

The hyperbolic time chamber is too stronk.

You could probably still combo into Mallet Smash in the corner using EX Monster Lariat… Not sure about midscreen however.

Kazuya/Nina is really nice - look out for replays of ChaosLimits, who is a pretty great user of this team.
Ryu/Ken itself is actually not a bad team. Sanford uses them.
Chun-Li/Cammy is an amazing team actually. Great pokes and an overall solid game.
Bison/Juri is for sure a good team. This is a team than can play a very solid all around game and has good synergy.
Julia/Bob seems like a pretty solid team. Both have tools for the neutral game and powerful mixups.
Elena/Dudley is a team with great synergy, good damage, solid footsies, and is fun.
Akuma/Ogre (while not technically a canon team) is pretty solid as well. Ogre and Akuma complement each other nicely. Akuma can zone and play lame while also possessing a good pressure game, and Ogre has a pretty scary pressure game as well and rock-solid defense.

I could also see Alisa/Lars working out, but I’ve rarely seen it played…

Akuma cannot ‘play lame.’ Akuma can ‘fail miserably’ and ‘die trying,’ but, in this game, he really can’t ‘play lame,’ and, to me, that in itself is actually just a bit lame.
