So frosty…I see tell you did some karate back in the day…and possibly doing boxing still? Good stuff.
You know what I can’t fathom? How I win matches with Yoshi and whoever his partner is. Like…he is a contender for worst normals in the game…I don’t understand. Like cr. jabs on 0 on block, his st. jab is +1 on block and his cl.mp is +2 on block…that’s it. Can’t even cancel into a special to be made safe. I question myself sometimes when Yoshi wins…I really do.

I’m pretty busy.
/storytime
I just… I got tired of looking at the blank pages on the wiki, and being scared to touch it myself or just being like “when I get time”.
So I said to myself, “self?”
…and he was like “the fuck you want son?!”
And I was like “well, um… if someone gives me credentials, I’m… I’m going to updating the wiki!”
Then he laughed. He laughed heartily at my determination.
And I became even more determined to update the wiki! I want to prove to myself that I can do it!

I’m in a good, silly mood, sorry.
In all seriousness, I’ve just been sneaking it in here and there. Now that I have a template and with the massive help of the frame data guide (thanks again gentlemen), it’s not too bad since all I’m really doing is transferring info from one format to another, and linking to the frame data doc. It has calmed down a little bit at work so the lack of OT gave me some space buuuuut I’ve spent all my freetime either writing, practicing, or not going to the gym.
SFxT has my full attention (whatever little that’s worth) til’ October 12th. After that, I’ll be shared by Pokemon XY, and um… XY will be kinda’ demanding on time. O_o

Except in Miley’s case, it’s actually worth it since she isn’t paying the bills with “talent”. In our case, all we get is hate, no new players, and a forever alone feeling.
I mean, I’ve been pushing to get the game played with my friends, but in all honesty, the dream’s dead. I’ve tried as much as I could outside bringing my own setup (since I can’t). I’ve learned a lil Skull Girls, I learned some KOF, I played DoA (tits and all), Virtua Fighter, took lumps in AE, and even tried my hand at Melty Blood a few times (like wtf?), but even after all that, they just don’t budge. It’s just legitimate dislike for the game, between being scrubby or “not fun”. I’m thinking about getting Xrd Sign when that comes out so I can stop feeling so isolated all the time. >_>
I mean, playing games by myself isn’t new, but that’s not what I play fighting games for. =/

The WORST part?
I can’t play online until Thanks-fking-giving. Otherwise I’d feel a tad better about all this.

No, the PS3’s at home. That’s why you only see “me” playing Blops, if anything, a game I never play on my own time. In other words, that’s N-3 you’re seeing, not N-2. I’m at college.

Now I truly see your predicament. That really sucks…
Oh well, there’s always theory fighting. I guess. That’s what I do anyway, when I don’t have access to SF X TK. Subsequent dreams about combos and set-ups are a nice bonus.

Theory-fighting is best when I can follow-up on the theory. Otherwise, it’s kind of useless cause I forget the stuff I thought up. Although, I realized that Elena’s Mallet Smash doesn’t really work after using light buttons. Needs something with more block-stun, so it needs cr. MP. When I get home, I’ma have to practice the spacing and junk. Stopped using cr. MP too much cause I kept getting raw launched and its reach is lousy in comparison to her standing normals, but now it’s important.
Aw man I theory fight all the time, even at work. Since I’m used to Juri’s moves (like know practically everything off by heart) I can easily theorize that with things like “can I pass under this move?” “Hmmm if I do this at a certain time but I setup this this move?” etc etc. In all honesty…it works. Like Frame trap in the corner with Fuhajin store and release and get some nice pressure going, or burn 3 bars on ex M fuhajin’s and score free OH’s in the process since M Fuhajin on block is +13 and her overhead is 15f startup. nice little 2f gap there for CH fishing.
I also figured out too that the M/H verisons of Fuhajin have less pushback then the L verison. Allowing say st/cl.mp, H release, st.mp Fuhajin store for a nice TBS. Things like that.

You’re always offline when I look. >.>
Been playing this game a lot recently, call it a revival if you will. I’ve come to realize that playing lame is an actual effective playstyle, and with point Ryu, once I get the life lead, there’s not much my opponent can do to open me up. However, if you lose the life lead with a typical zoner like Juri, Ryu, Akuma, JACK or Alisa, to a average/high health character with life/yellow gems - forget about a comeback, as these characters, generally, don’t have comeback mechanics. I played a decent Hwoarang the other day, who could do those frame trap Flamengo strings. These are some of my observations:
They are true block strings and he can only be punished if he does a forward CADC. I don’t rate his footsies against Shotos though.
Oh, and Akuma’s sweep, in my opinion, might be the most oppressive footsie tool in the game. Granted, certain characters punish it for free with super, or in the case of Bryan, almost everything. But it can be so strong, especially when you get the spacing down.
Juri players, you might have a new believer soon.
Eh, making comebacks…feels good but it really just tells me about the opponent. Intimidation crept up on you. People, I believe turtle because they lost control of the match especially when the clock is ticking. If you have complete control of the match regardless or life lead…why back off? There’s honestly no need to.

I really need to get back to playing I want to start trying more characters. Raven, cammy and sagat (yes gonna jump on the sagat wagon) are my next projects whenever I get back to playing. Use to play cammy since A3 and sagat since cvs2. Probably throw some ryu in there as well.

Guy, Duds and Elena pages updated. Working on Sakura next after work. I also linked to zUkUu’s frame data guide for each individual character at the bottom of the pages.
I would like some help in the analysis department - the bit at the top of each page - if peeps want to do small write-ups for them.
Elena’s In A Nutshell should say something about her having safe footsie normals, decent combo damage, many overheads, good anti-zoning tools and being able to sync with almost any partner.
Her cons would be that her best meterless combos and even some of her neutral tools rely on a standing opponent and many of her overheads (including her only move that forces stand, Mallet Smash) are easy to react to, making crouching opponents a problem for her. Also, some of her best moves are themselves crouching attacks and she has a few specials that are considered crouching, making her pretty weak to raw launches. While she has some great jump attacks, she jumps higher than most and it makes it easy to react to her jump ins unless set up.
You can cover these weaknesses by having a partner with a tag-in move that forces stand (Dudley’s Machine Gun Blow and Ken’s Tatsu as examples), by getting opponents used to crouching and going for a throw, and by baiting out launches and then punishing.
She also has below average health and, maybe it’s just me, but her throw seems rather subpar. I mean, it’s obviously subpar compared to her godlike SF3 throw, but even compared to other SFxT throws it seems below average.
Of course, she more than makes up for these weaknesses by being adorable.
I might not know what I’m talking about at all though, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

Cause you either rush them down and win, or use the timer to win. If you have complete control of the match, maybe that control is due to you zoning/turtling so well?

Comebacks are fine as long as I’m the one doing them. Otherwise, they are evidence of a broken, poorly balanced game and it’s all because of poor netcode and in-game lag due to poor port optimization and it was a terrible matchup and they need to patch the game and I should have won that and why does anyone even play this awful, fraud friendly game.
