SFxT General Discussion #4 - Witty title

You may not NEED a stick but it’s a fact they were designed to be played with one, because y’know, they were. The Capcom and Namco ones at least.

Hell Namco still build for arcade first, so do Capcom actually, just not with Marvel though the studio that built Marvel built TvC originally for arcade.

I actually think the whole meter spending thing is a miscommunication and doesn’t even go into the level of reading comprehension.

Some ppl are saying it doesn’t cost meter because you get free meter that you can freely spend before it happens, and cg123n1 is arguing that gaining free meter doesn’t matter and what’s spent is spent. I think both sides are right.

And I’m still trying to find GROUNDED Pandora combos…

Any crumple/stagger on counterhit moves (jin swaying willow, heihachi hammer punch, vega st.hp, ken far.hk, sagat f+lk, etc.), Bob’s normals, or just simply very high hitstun moves (hugo j.hk) all work

Jin’s swaying willow is convenient for it, since you can do cr.hp xx ex power stance xx swaying willow. Lei’s comet kick can work too, but linking a non-reversal move after is pretty awkward.

People beat me to it but there are a bunch of crumple set ups. You also have enough time off a ground bounce, like you can do cl. hk on someone with Akuma on tag in, activate pandora and if you have a fast, low hitting move like Vega ex - flip kick you can pick them up and go into super.

Speaking of stages before do you guys have a favourite stage you pick or do you just go training stage all the time?

In SFIV I like Small Airfield because it’s the closest to Guile’s ST stage and Morning Mist Bay.

In SFxT I used to always picked the top floor of Mishima Estate but now I usually go for the top floor of skatepark because of that billboard with Trollno on it.

If the connection is full-bars, I’ll go to either Cosmic Elevator or Pandora’s Box, no question.

fist bump for Morning Mist Bay. One of my favorite stages in the game. So atmospheric.

QUESTION: How would you guys feel about companies like Capcom implementing mini-Kickstarter akin programs where players can attempt to raise a certain amount of money for the development and implementation of a character?

@Rc_ON I may be wrong but my understanding is if knee bazooka is -4 but has 4 active frames and you hit on the last active frame it’ll be -1 because the frame of contact doesn’t add towards frame advantage. In SF4 his knee bazooka is 0 on block if you hit on the last active frame. So his Rolling Sobat would be +2 on block if it hits on the last active frame in SFxT but +5 in SF4. At least that’s my conclusion after reading the rindoukan bible like a year or two ago where Makoto’s st.mp was +2 on block and had 7 active frames but hitting on the last active frame made her +8 instead of +9.

@AzureXIII Capcom can kiss my ass if they do that. I’d rather them make a kickstarter to create a new game as opposed to a kickstarter to add DLC.

Converter eh? Hmmmmm …Gona have to look up online for that. As for stick. I’m a pad player. I’m a console boy. Controllers feel right with me. Plus I really only play Xbox just for you guys anyway.

Oh, I know this is off topic, but anyone who hasn’t gone skydiving…do it. Do much fun.

Also, I apologize to kit for what I said. Yeah, I’m quite the a-hole when it comes to certain things. So, once again…the slate is clean…for me anyway.

I’d never go sky diving that requires some serious cohones. What if the parachute doesn’t deploy??? Although a wingsuit would be so awesome to try at least once.

Man I literally stopped caring the day after I posted the video. I don’t really hold grudges for disagreements so it’s all good.

A converter is a good option, but you might end up with a crappy converter that has issues with dropping inputs or lag.

Welll, ill look into it. I’m tempted right now. Skydiving is fun. I did it yesterday. 10000ft. It’s safe. The probability of something bad happening is like getting hit by meteorite.

You’re jumping out of a plane for no reason except jumping out of a plane.

There is added risk in jumping out of a plane compared to you know… not jumping out of a plane.

Thanks for the insight!

I love my arcade stick. Compatible with pc, ps3 and xbox 360. Gonna mod it sooner or later with sanwa parts. Btw I have been playing with pad until half a year ago. I still have to practice but the stick gives me more options. I’m glad that I “sticked” with it.

In practice mode I managed to do cl. hp xx sonic boom , st. lp xx sonic boom. I just love doing these loops and I won’t care about the damage. I will use that all day, once I mastered it. But I got the feeling that 3 is the absolute limit under normal circumstances… :frowning:

Its more fun to fly the plane than jump out of it anyways.

I suffer from acrophobia, which is strange because I can get on a plane and feel just fine. But I can’t stand elevators, looking at tall buildings or even ladders. I can’t imagine jumping out of a plane I’d faint on the way down xD.

@Rc_ON I’m glad I could help lol. I wonder if any Guile mains do his sonic boom buffer ( I think it’s B,F,B+P) and does it help him as much in SFxT as it does in SF4?

That’s exactly what I’m doing to get the second boom and I make use of the charge animation similar to Balrog’s combos.

Because its fun. The rush, the thrill. It’s like a high. Now I know how Juri gets excited. Things like this make a person feel alive.

So does sex. It doesn’t require you to plummet towards the earth with only a nylon bag to save your life.

Honestly frosty if that’s not how sex is for you you must be doing something wrong.
