Nuckledu, Luffy, Punk and Mena show that you dont have to come from an asian country to win in SF, but it’s just that American not winning Evo thing that I think makes people believe America is still missing something. It’s cool to win CPT, but if you dont have Evo, something is missing. Just can’t handle all the asians in one building on one weekend.

I’ve been out of the loop and I don’t check twitch but did like watching Daigo/Fuudo/Mago stream SFV because afterwards they would always go over their matches or w/e
The closest we came to that on a professional level was GOOTECKS and MIKE ROSS…gootecks and mike ross…

Would be nice to watch a US stream of the same thing with… I dunno who is putting up the points nowadays?
Regardless, streaming sFV matches won’t get us back 2 back Evos but I think twitter/instagram or w/e hurts and builds us at the same time
or maybe SFV is just too fucking random and it’ll always be a toss up

Rant Part 2
Punk came close but lost to Tokido
I’m not in the know so this is just speculation
During Punk’s reign, did professional players respect him? did they dig into his brain? did they give him tips? any type of help when they realized Punk might be the next Evo Champ? or did Punk’s personality turn everyone off but they kept it classy because we’re all suppose to hold hands at the end of the day 4 e-sports
Did they not say anything…sat back and just watched the match hoping for his failure or mad they’re not up there fighting Tokido?
Just thinking Punk might have taken it if things surround the match was different…he clearly choked at a point which was signs of his lack of tournament experience at that level…but i dunno I feel like things should be different the next time we get that close…
You’re setting yourself up for an HUGE disappointment. Even in the US people saying there’s no 2 without 3? Cody will be tournament viable like Sakura and Blanka are. Casuals will be happy with nice costumes and good animations, watch.
Maybe the NA should just pick a new game. That or preach to bring back SF2 so amerca can win the simpler game. Might be easier on the brain for em’.

I believe it because I’ve been spamming Falke’s stHP until it hits for the laughs (you gotta admit capcom animated it just right to the point where you have to scream bonk when it hits)
and I had a Bison trying to dash up even after I punished him multiple times
America will become smart for next Evo
Edit: Also it’s funny when reading players say they suck because they’re stuck in Silver, no man you don’t suck…like at all… there are people who still want to get into fighting games but find simple motions like QCF hard to do…I guess that’s why we have Based Falke

Not sure about Punk. Maybe he could have used a little more mentoring, but Bonchan did say in that interview before Evo that he needed to realize that he can only win for so long and that someone will always be a demon for him. Maybe he needed a few more things like that going into Evo. It’s tough though now because with all the eSports stuff you can’t immediately coach people during matches like you used to. Who knows, maybe a good coach could have got him to eye a few more of Tokido’s attempts to jump or to play a bit less grounded to keep Tokido on his toes.
Also a preview of the honest fireball games that will return and allow expressive , long distance chess battles vs your opponent that lead to the game win for you on the 29th.
SF2 is cool and all but I want more free stuff in SFV
Also my Punk rant is nothingness obviously but just like in many other sports, you sometimes find players sacrificing themselves per say so the MVP can grab the win

Random: I downloaded some Falke videos, I think I might give this girl some serious thought because I like playing defensive then out of nowhere going berserk and I think her and Juri is cool for this while Karin is just me holding forward and going dumb
Fuck tokido. Yeah I said it. Sue me. And ST vega is cancer, but not all of ST is vega. Lots of matchups in ST are great. Personally the matches I hate playing in ST are versus vega, Honda, and sim. By far the most annoying flowchart characters in the game.
But saying ST is vega is like saying sf4 is fuerte. Fuerte is an annoying little prick, but you still get pure classic awesome matches like the valle versus daigo mirror matches which are some of the best ever recorded.
They nerfed punk so…probably can’t win evo. They buffed akuma with better damage on fhp. Awesome. Tokido might win evo again. Japan looks after japan, if you didn’t know, now you know.

They can deal with it for only 40 dollars and relive the great childhood memories where none of those things were happening to them back then.
Of course a new awakening for any new kids that are brushing up on their history of their favorite Daigos and Tokidos who used to play the epic neutral old games.
