Also, Kat’s Light Wall (The Focus Attack thing) backwards dash is -8 and puts some decent distance, can be pretty hard to punish. Need to forward dash to combo on CH, or so it seems tho.

Unfortunately I have class at 7:30 on Mondays which puts a hard brake on my fight games at 7. Plus my ex dropped off some mail which resulted in a conversation that was fine but left me in a spot where playing SFV probably wasn’t the best idea. Can try again on Weds.
Hope you and @FlyingVe had good sets but it looks like he had to pop his IRL VT pretty early on. 
I wasn’t even gonna use Ed you don’t have to run from me like that

I mean, to be blunt, yes.
You play all the characters you play very similarly (not that that’s a bad thing), so the more the character rewards you the better. I would have to ask though, why stop at Cody?
Also, yesterday and today was the first time I’ve ever picked Necalli. I was kind of enjoying myself. I think the more a character lets me avoid SFV’s throw/upclose the better. The command grab lets me treat it more like other games.
Edit: Obligatory, SFV normals/movement/VT sucks.
The hardest thing about playing Necalli is staying awake. How did you manage that?

Necalli is fun but he has some massive glaring flaws in his gameplan.
'Cause I’ve tried basically the entire roster at this point, and those others you’re probably thinking of (I’m assuming Cammy, Karin or Akuma) I’m just not really feeling.
Cammy I don’t like using her dive kicks in neutral, Karin is basically Punk’s character so no point in trying (I don’t have the reactions for consistent one hit confirms off of crmk), and I don’t have the unga in me to bring out Akuma’s potential
So that’s what I’m left with

I still owe Ed a lot of beatings. I have a helluva sheet to balance out.
From what I saw the other day I think Cody is a pretty good fit. He at least plays into the way you like to play well.
Only thing I’d say is the same thing I heard when I was playing G: don’t dick around with the lesser VT when the char has a VT that is so very clearly “the good one” . I know you’ve said you like VT1 and we’re all just fucking around anyways, but that is also more time you can use practicing funky rock set ups and whatever else puts Frost at half mast.
I was using VTII the whole time against FlyingVe so I’m good there
Even I can’t justify using VTI it’s worse than anything even Ed has
