SFV Lounge: No News after the grass, 10K POWERRRRRRR

Are you talking about capcom?

Actually, that’s a thing that also worries me.

Kojima is at his worst when there’s nobody holding his leash. If left to his own devices he goes totally off the rails…

I don’t even think we learned that much from the trailer. We don’t really know it will be like MGS. We learned:
-there will be enemies in the game
-there will be walking in the game
-you can use a ladder to climb a rock… for what purpose? Who knows?
-you can use a rope to climb down the rock… for what purpose? Who’s knows?
-ghosts? Babies? Time travel?

Sony is usually pretty damned good at game trailers.

Both I guess. But for different reasons.

Just curious, what is your opinion on art?

Kojima is going to drop something absolutely insane and way too mysterious for it’s own good. Then the game might actually get a lot of flak or even outright bomb because of how overhyped it is and years later some self-proclaimed connoisseur will talk how it was groundbreaking and everyone will circlejerk it endlessly.

It’s like a game made based on vanguardian art. I’m getting mad just thinking about it.

I mean it could be good. I like plenty of games that I don’t think most people would go for, or that I probably appreciate more than others.

Even if it is this weird mess, I would prefer them tell me what it is?

I’m just frustrated because the marketing is: “We won’t tell you what it is, but buy it because famous people”.

I love the build up to kojima games lol. I’m someone who enjoyed playing mgs4 so I’m sure I’ll probably like this game even if kojima goes all kojima on it

Personal opinion: the 3D models for Death Stranding look technically amazing, the art side of things also looks very inspired, but at the end of it I still personally dislike the ultra-realism that’s going on with the characters.

It’s like everyone looks weird to me, and everyone looks weird probably because they look too real.

I dunno, I’m just glad we got to see some gameplay elements to confirm that, yes indeed, it will be a game, not an art installation. And the gameplay we did see was a mix between stealth, clunky shooting, and more focus on exploration (ladder, delivering/picking up things in the previous trailer).

There was also something about a confirmed dystopian future, and all the ghosts/babies/void-out stuff is tied to that future, allowing you to go back and forth or some shit. We’ll see how it plays out.

Yeah, there’s definitely some Uncanny Valley stuff.
But when they look good, they look really good.

Same with RE2 remake and DMC V, there’s moments of realism, and moments where they look like freaks of nature.

I’m just busting your balls lol

The graphics look good. Not gonna complain about that. And Kojima knows cinematography… even if he has no concept of pacing.

Kojima is going to have no leash whatsoever. It’s what happens when “geniuses” go to a new workplace. They feel honored to have him and want him to express what he couldn’t, so they won’t say no to anything.

That’s honestly what I’m more hype about. Kojima going 140% Kojima will be entertainingly weird to say the least.

Yeah let kojima cook, I ain’t super hyped yet but I’m definitely intrigued. I’m more excited to see what he does after this.

Kojima should just move on to do movies, because it is clearly what he wants to do.
This thing he is making is anything but a game.

Kojima is just upping his actor catalog before he goes into movies.

Yeah, but like most game makers who want to make movies… he’s actually not that good at it.

He knows how to frame a shot… but basically nothing else.

As a film maker, he’s a shitty Zach Schneider.

I was intrigued the first few times. Now I’m annoyed and smell too much pretentious fart gas.

Indeed, but at least that way we can get him busy and away from making “games” like this stranding thing for many years!
It is a win-win scenario!

I’d rather the game just be good. The man has made some of my favorite games ever, he has the ability.

I really want to “get” Death Stranding, I really do. But, as I’ve said before, it’s frustrating that the game actively doesn’t want anyone to “get it”.

Also, I skimmed the twitter responses to the trailer and… I think @Volt is probably on the money for where this thing is headed.

I’d rather he not make games at all.
