Right now SFV does neither. I could argue that a lot of this comes from CCs and V-Triggers but there are other games out there with similarly dumb mechanics (UMvC3 for example) which still don’t feel as unrewarding to play. So I hope they find a better balance for stuff like that next time around.

I think the SOCD-discussion is pretty interesting. Daigo’s Hitbox doesn’t seem to interpret SOCDs as neutral inputs, which is definitely an advantage for a charge-character. The typical industry hitboxes register SOCDs as neutral. This would solve the problem for SF, but it’s a discussion in the Tekken community if that’s an issue because it makes certain inputs (backdash cancels aka the most important input in the game) significantly easier to do cleanly.
