I think the nrs community is toxic as hell and i think its because of voice chat.
I just picked up kung lao and i got maybe 20 games under my belt so im obviously gonna lose to certain gimmicks.
Anyway i get this kitana who is just throwing fans and doing the butt or jumping if i get close and neutral duck. Couldn’t really figure it out so i go down 0-2.
Dudes on his mic just yapping. T bagging. Doing fatalities. Being a dick.
So i swap to scorp and pull a reverse sweep. Then he sends me a message about how i wouldn’t win without my cheap teleport character
Are you implying that a block button makes his teleport less good? idk if you know but ill write this out anyway
Scorpion teleport isnt for left/right mixups, it’s to snipe fireballs, which can be done on reaction against some characters. In one of his variations he can also cancel it, which gets him next to you for free. You can see the teleport if you’re not doing anything and he’s just using it to get in, but pressing a button would be unwise because you can’t tell if he’s gonna cancel or not till he’s already there, at which point he probably goes for a throw mixup which is a legit 50/50 in that game.
Basically scorpion teleport invalidates some characters zoning, with the right variation there is also a lot of guessing involved to punish him for using it, possibly more than there should be. But I play scorpion, so what I’m really trying to say with this post is

Bea you’re right, Detective Pikachu is a wonderful movie. It’s fun, silly and probably the best video game movie to date, which says a lot compared to what we’ve had (I’m looking at you, SMB, Street Fighter, KOF and Dead or Alive).
