Funny I have the exact opposite opinion. I still don’t think much of Kabal other than his jumping mixup being very good. His projectile is actually pretty good, I take that back.
He has better footsie normals than Skarlet, and gets 400+ off every krushing blow.
Depending on variation her gets a geras style canned mixup (complete with krushing blow) or a geras style rapid cancel. Also, his fatal is good, and his d1 isn’t horrible.
He also has amazing frame trap options and, like Skarlet, doesn’t need meter for damage.
About the only clear weakness I see is that, outside of crushing blow, his damage is quite poor.

L vs Kano
W vs Scorpion who only did Fullecreen spear and tele/mb tele mixup.
W vs Jacqui
W vs Noob who quit after the first round after i started blocking and punishing his random teleports.
Also this must be what it feels like to be back in Bronze. Most of these guys don’t even block.

The low hook Krushing Blow got changed, you don’t actually get it from doing it during b12, it has to be a raw read. Good damage, but a ballsy read. To me he’s got the one real good Kb (B12 punish), but the others are more situational and less good. Changed from the beta.
He does have a tremendous fatal blow, yes.
I just think he’s slow, doesn’t get around zoning very well, and his mixup doesn’t leave him in a very good spot to capitalize from it. One of my local guys plays him, and I think if he has to guess his way in he just really won’t open you up besides throws and he plays a lot of catchup.

Yeah those two teleports suck… I have no great ideas other than to bait them out… and make sure they pay.
Also, scorpion mb vs normal teleport isn’t actually a mixup, you just gotta practice the timing. I am not great at it…
Oh that’s good to know. In my defense I’ve almost never played anyone in MK online before today, so it was 100% learning on the go for me. Took me till the 3rd or 4th round to figure out you could duck Scorpion spear.
Also is there some way to filter wifi connects?
D2, EX saw, and hook slam are also great as you can trap into them well. Not risk free though obviously.
I also don’t think Kabal is perfect, I would put him just out of top tier, and I think his variations are important to his matchups. I want that air buzz saw vs zoner for example.

I noticed. I was scared to go online because i assumed it would be full of killers with no match making to protect me. So far everyone has been as terrible as me thankfully.
Still loving Jade. Her air projectile is pretty dope even though i haven’t learned to convert from it.
No… MK has always had a higher percentage of bad player to good. No killers, lots of YOLO.
To me, if you don’t have diagonal air buzzsaw I’m not sure it’s worth it. Mixing up j2 and buzzsaw is really good and I think one of his best ways to get people moving. NDC pressure is alright, I suppose, but I’m not sure it’s worth giving up restand hook and low hook and air buzzsaw.
I actually think all things considered his damage is alright. Not many people have a meterless launching special. Him, Kitana, Erron, Kotal, KL, I think that’s it.

Had half life. Raw activated VT1. Vega tried some goofy blockstring and I blew it up with v-trigger xx Super.
Game is GAWDLIKE.
Raw activate that VT1 and punk the F out of people with it. That’s what life is about.

Expectations. Tekken and Smash re-use some assets while putting in a ton of new stuff, it’s expected and people are okay with it as long as the new stuff is good and the old stuff is still fun.
Each time Capcom puts out a new mainline Street Fighter game it’s all new assets (IE SF2 -> SFA -> SFIII -> SF4 -> SF5). So people come to expect that and get mad if they appear to re-use anything (see people complaining about Zeku supposedly re-using Ed animations when that was false).

Usually happens during Christmas and randomly once or twice throughout the year.
I dunno how matchmaking works but i seem to get plenty of every kind of player. I can either be playing a bronze equivalent or a GM. It doesn’t seem to discriminate
