SFV Lounge: No News after the grass, 10K POWERRRRRRR

Dunno, when I heard that theme I imagine her as a stripper and suddenly the theme doesn’t feel that bad anymore. The moment when Rashid and Azam saw Juri was hilarious.

My reaction would have been the same.

Just couldn’t let ed get real damage off an AA even with meter.

Let that boy cook as far as I’m concerned.

Ed’s a good boy who deserves better

Yeah but Falke is actually fun to play and (sort of) fundamentally sound.
Ed just… makes you wish he was Falke.
If your combos gonna suck, might as well have good AAs

Ed has a bunch of crazy good AAs though. I kinda like how the character plays but Ed’s wack ass rap is a blight on his toolset.

Menat’s theme should be higher, I just love the rhythm of that one

Don’t be angry Will, it’s ok be wrong sometimes

What’s wrong with Juri’s theme? It’s not the best in the game but not bad either.

Don’t think I’ve ever heard Falke’s since i usually listen to my own music while playing.

Edit: It’s definitely better than Ed’s lol gtfoh.

Since highland isnt here and because im bored till my next client. Your neutral isnt bad as DJ said. But you arent wrestling for tempo advantage either. Your opponent should never be happy with your cadence. You want to push the boundaries at all times. Your aggression just needs a bit if work. As an example of this lack of aggression, take 4:30 as an example. You do cr.mk xx fb with full resources in the THIRD ROUND. Ibuki with around half health. You could have done a combo there for around 400-450 damage with all resources. Shit, with only a vt activate into full combo you still could have done 250+ with an hkd and threatening demon/overhead/low all into instant death for ibuki. Kage is a mixup character so missing those kinds of opportunities is gonna kill ya.

Missing punishes is one thing, but missing easy confirms into massive damage should be a clear indicator of something that needs fixing asap.

Also, you dont mixup your blockstring and general upclose pressure enough. Just ending with cr.mk xx fb is weaksauce unless you atleast have the resources to confirm into something big. Otherwie stick with the stagger pressure and only go low if you notice the opponent constantly walking backwards. Cr.mk xx fb is a resource confirm dump, or a way to train your opponent not to move backwards. Also get used to walking into your opponents range and blocking. Theres a good reason for this (punk does it all day) and chris t goes over the reasons why you would want to do something like that. Its pretty important for kaga as an example. Go to chris’ channel and lookup the neutral wiff punishing video.

Cheers

Kolin’s theme is really… cool. It’s all icy and crystalline, and makes you think about being trapped in castles made out of ice, and think about the ice geysers on the moons of saturn

Kolin’s theme is bottom 3 in the game. Fitting for the character but terrible fighting game music. If i wanted to hear that shit I go watch March of the Penguins or some other cold nature shit.

I love and abhor BBTAG simultaneously

Nash’s theme with the elephants is dope.

Falke- her theme is okay it starts off nice and then it’s just ehh.

Juri- her theme sounds better when you forget it’s her theme if that makes any sense lol.

kolin- theme is average at best it doesn’t even fit for a fighting game

Alex- his theme isn’t bad it just doesn’t fit a fighting game either it doesn’t hype me up like some of the other themes his just sounds like elevator music.

All the SF2 themes have been played over and over to death across games to the point I can no longer stand them. Alpha 2 and SIV at the bare mininum besides SFV and in the case of Ryu SFIV count for three since Ryu, Akuma and Gouken have it. Always set the themes to the stage ones to avoid having to listen the umpteenth SF2 remix unnecessarily and that isn’t even guaranteed since in some cases the stage AND the character have variations of the theme. Considering they updated most characters’ look, new ones were almost obligatory. Even some others like Ibuki’s are on their third iteration, and her 3S soundtrack wasn’t even particulary good.

I hope SF6 pulls an Alpha 3 and runs a entirely new soundtrack even if it’s not as iconic it is still better.

Karin’s godlike and Alex too (if it appeared in other games besides SF3 didn’t play those games, so it still sounds fresh to me).

I quite like Juri’s theme, I think it fits her very well once it starts, it just takes too long.

I think most of the SFV alpha themes are totally forgettable. I like Karin’s when it does that little recognisable refrain, but that’s about it.

Though, exception, Nash’s is perfect for him in SFV. Completely heroic, urgent, and tragic at the same time.
