Birdie at S feels goofy but he beats enough people.

Birdie and Rashid honestly don’t have any MUs below 5-5 IMO so I think him and Birdie and joint best characters for overall success in pool play/tournaments. You will never need a pocket pick.

Try out turn based combat games they might be more up your alley.

Thats all true. But compared to all the other S tiers I’ve dealt with, S4 of SF5 has the least S tier feeling characters in S tier.

Fujimara definitely makes Ibuki look otherwordly. Akuma is just straight good. Rashid has calmed down a minute from season 2. Hmm…

Guile is too fair now. RIP Daigo. I blame Frost whining about sobat.

Don’t think Birdie has your typical S-Tier stuff with VT robbery or dashing/EX bullshit. Button you to death and you can’t do much about it. Best button arsenal in the game, high damage output, has command throw.

EDIT**
Oh and his VT1 is fucking nuts for that walkspeed buff it gives him. VT2 is good but VT1 is the absolute sauce that saves certain MUs for him.

All that is good but it doesnt feel overwhelming. Dealing with Birdie isnt lile dealing with ST, CvS2, 3S or even SF4 nonsense.

Dude definitely top tier, but he isnt giving you the S tier dirty.

If you make a list of his toolset, yeah you could say he’s S.

Mapping out his matchups though might be a bit tougher to put him there. Some characters don’t really have to deal with his buttons or really as much of him as most others. Quite a few strong Birdies I’ve seen say they believe Falke beats Birdie. She has block/reactive punishes for just about all of his shit, her pokes perfectly poke outside of the range of his and he lost his yolo bullhead stuff that would make the match tougher for her.

Certain lower tier characters in general give him more of a pain than the other 3 S tiers. Chun Li still good vs him also and she’s on the come up again.

Overall I would say he’s definitely arguable for S tier, but also equally arguable for A (maybe nod him within the best of A)

Birdie loses to Abigail, guile, dhalsim, and possibly Nash too.

I think Nash is the only one he actually loses hard to there, I don’t think the others are below 5-5. Maybe Sim too, but that’s deffo not as bad as Nash. Sim gets cucked by the banana peel, it’s hilarious.

Abi should be closer to 5 5 after nerfs. Would make sense.

Not as overwhelming as before but birdie has a hard time dealing with Abigail’s runs, flips and buttons in the neutral. I watch Poongkos stream and he still bodies grandmaster birdie’s without trouble.

I’ve seen Shazyy body many a GM Guile too but I’ve yet to see many Cody’s outside of him say it’s a 5-5. Some people have that spark I’m missing when it comes to MU understanding ;_;

I think the only thing giving sim a hard time in that match is the fwhp armour and vt1 armour, but they made that more punishable this season. Before activating trigger birdie has a tough time dealing with Sims zoning game.

Birdie vskill is really good in that MU too, it shuts down a good portion of Sim’s space control.

Yh but Menard consistently loses to abis, and sees the character as his nemesis. Likewise fuudo lost to itazans Abigail earlier this year. It’s not just xyzz or mena that has a hard time it’s across the board. Abigail invalidates his one strength in the neutral which are pokes and on top of that has tools which birdie specifically lacks answers for

Difficult to get that rolling when sim has established a zoning game, Sims could also punish that on reaction if done raw. Outside the range of Sims normals birdie player will have a hard time following the can to the end.

I’ll deffo agree Birdie loses to Nash/Sim. I don’t think he loses hard to Abi any more, he lost a lot of power going into S4 across all of his tools.

So I was wrong on that, still think Rashid has nothing worse than 5-5 though. And having your worst match-ups be between a character pool of Nash/Sim/Abigail isn’t too bad considering general populace of those dudes.

I think the guile matchup might just be closer to 50 50 though. I mean guile can still rushdown on top of zone, but his get in tools got nerfed so it’s more difficult to do so this season. On top of it being more easy to bullhorn sonic boom.
