That’s the thing, it’s not necessary to hold it at all times. Just like walking forward with Guile can be a good idea you don’t need to have fireball with Falke charged 24/7.
It’s pretty important to her to have up at least like 80% of the time, the threat of it is much stronger than it’s actual usage.
It’s totally matchup dependant anyway. If you hold it at least 80% of the time against Cammy or Bison you’re just going to get pressured to death.
Way i see it her changes allow her to charge as much or as little as you want now. Overall though with the changes there’s no reason to hold a charge once you get near the opponent so that makes it a lot easier to play her game overall. You can focus on charging in mid range then switch to playing without the charge once you get close for pressure. Now that she can combo off lights at close range without shot, tying up a punch button is no longer needed once you’re in.

giving up MP in those MUs isn’t that big of a deal if your goal is to evade pressure, air shots are always going to be good enough threat on your jumps to keep control of space
It’s not only MP you’re losing when holding charge but also EX DP and V-Reversal.
Giving up EX DP is a good thing for me. I rely on that thing way too much and it is being a clutch.
For v-reversals, you can release mp safely on block to use it.
For her combos off light buttons, I will either need a new stick with smaller buttons that are closer to each other or try to find another way to rest my hand on it to put less strain when I try to reach for PPP or try to press all 3 buttons at once.
Or just forego them completely and never follow up lights with anything.
Also, for the record, I was right about Falke’s Trigger 2 overhead. There’s less hitstun after landing it but the same amount of frame advantage, meaning the same links still work but you have to press the button earlier which is what was throwing me off. I have recorded a clip which I’ll upload later today.
This change was neither mentioned in the official patch notes nor in the list with undocumented changes.
Oh yeah I keep forgetting her and Ed’s require the triple input, duh me
