SFV Lounge: Menat BUFFED, F2P SFV coming, CCCC COMBO BREAKERS coming

Capcom’s about due for another off-franchise fighting game though, aren’t they?

Unless the SFxT and MvCi fuck-ups have finally killed all chance of that.

Went and checked extra battle…they are indeed one try now. So instead of a potential of upwards of 6000FM, you only get 1/3rd that amount.

Oh, and I don’t think the loss of the 2500 FM mission is a slip. There’s a new mission there now; get a KO with a critical art 1 time, which awards 50, which seems to have replaced the weekly 2500 bonus (usually there’s the 500 bonus for 10 Critical Art KOs, having only a single one is new). I HOPE I’m wrong, but that has me worried. Alternatively, 2500 bonuses are no longer every single week.

Getting FM in this game is gonna be like

Between that and the addition of ads, they’re really trying to milk the money out of all the people that aren’t spending real cash on the game until support dies in 2020. If there’s any evidence for there still being 6 characters this season, it’s these FM reductions to truly force people into paying real money on all of them plus new stages.

Alternatively, there really is going to be less than 6 characters and the FM reductions are to try and prevent people from getting the whole season with FM despite that fact.

I’m definitely not spending another penny on this game if they’re gonna keep doing that.

What do you expect of a new V-reversal would do uniquely from what we had in game already?

Alpha 2 has 2 types of Alpha counters, for high and low, but V-reversal is different even it seems to have the same requirement and function to Alpha counter.

Every character getting an evasive V-reversal + a strike one is something people have speculated.

I doubt that’ll happen though. With the arcade release of the game next year, it’s very unlikely they’ll suddenly release another version of the game on top of that (something that would include sweeping additions, like the 2nd V-triggers in AE), the investment into the arcade version would be enough already.

why should it be dead? because they pulled it from some tourneys? can mean that they prefer to keep it exclusive to some special ones like the red bull world tour finals thing which happens in january.

beside of that

Do people even use VR’s that much? I always see people saving for VT like 99% of the time.

So they nerfed the FM gains in extra battle and missions even more, basically making it even more implausible to get enough FM to spend on stages or characters and stuff

I wonder how LoneDragon will shill for this… nah who am I kidding he probably already did

Toei being assholes -> DBFZ cockblocked at big events (EVO JP is only the first one) -> no tournaments for the game -> shrinking playerbase/community -> less incentive for people to keep playing -> less of a reason for devs to continue support via DLC/patches -> ded game

We already know Funimation and Namco combined had to suck Toei’s dick just so that the World Tour being arranged, which means you can basically forget about it happening again next year, which already means you’re gonna see less of a competition

Just look at what the Tekken pro scene had to say after shit payouts at the TWT finals - that game will greatly suffer as a result. Same thing is happening to DBFZ, and I’m not seeing a World Tour for SC6 since apparently that game isn’t doing too well

evo japan isnt the first one. during the year at least one other tournament had to scratch it from its list. you put way to much weight into the tournament scene when it comes down to sales. just look at sfv…if dlc will be made or not has nothing to do with how the tourney scene is going on. no one knows what theire plans are for 2019 beside of the finals. guess we will find out in a few weeks.

tekken (game not tourney scene) is doing fine and people knew what awaits them, they will continue to play. maybe not international but i doubt we will not see knee and co in local tourney showing what they can. twt2019 is confirmed too so…its going on for at least another year. that a season 2 pass exist has nothing to do with the twt, more with the success of the game itself during the first year. there was like around 60k/peak people watching the tekken world tour finals…out of 3million people who bought the game during the first year. thats a very small percentage of it. and the % of people who actually go to the tourneys is significant lower than that.

sc6 isnt going to get one. thats for sure.

“It’s unfair that I have to block” - LTG

Why are you linking to that fuckhead

Daemos, much like Bison himself, feeds off negative emotions, and LTG is an endless source of that.

It is said that if LTG existed in the Street Fighter universe he would make for the ultimate vessel for Bison’s Psycho Power.

I said this yesterday. He seems like a really average character with high damage output. He reminds me of a flashier low health season 3 ryu. I want him to be top tier but i just dont see it.

So Kage is Ed but with mix ups?

You couldn’t be further from the truth if you tried. Kage, while looking like Ryu plays nothing like him. His damage, shimmy game which is still developing, footsies and fireball game are the polar opposite to Ryu’s. He’s got the rule of -2 going for him, specials which frame trap, an EX which crumples, FADC, two very strong VTs, reliable AA in Cr.Hp and MP DP, combos into either of his CAs and his CH game is strong with Cr.Mp being a godly button. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Max distance Cr.Mk combos into SRk/Tatsu. St.Mk when he has meter stocked is deadly. That allows him to start the party. St.Hp as a buffer is like Cammy’s. Oh, and St.Lk VTC links into Cr.Hp. This character is going to be a major problem. Capcom, historically has always made their Shotos strong off the bat, Kage will be no exception.

Kage is good

I dont mean they play the same. I mean season 3 ryu was a character who struggled from neutral but could hurt if he got a clean hit. It was just simple combos instead of teleports.

Kage is a similar design to me. Gonna get out neutraled 90% of the time in match ups but if he hits you it looks cool and it hurts.

Kages oki and mix up is better than S3 Ryus and still better than S4s. That alone puts him in another league above Ryu and Ed
