SFV Lounge: Menat BUFFED, F2P SFV coming, CCCC COMBO BREAKERS coming

They buffed Zangief. This was a massive Akuma nerf.

It’s still not only valuable but still clearly better. Just VT2 went from useless to useful in certain matches.

VT1 still gives you a safe on block activation which is still too important vs rushdown centric characters like Bipson, Cammy and Ibuki. Relying on shot strings to safely hit confirm VT2 and activate vs them is going to yield not so great results. Vs strong zoners like Guile and Menat they are going to constantly play you from a range where you are not going to reliably get room to land those confirms (especially with less uses/shorter timer if you activate safely). VT1 also still strong because it gives you heavy plus on block shots that can’t be reflected by v skill/special move reflects. Very important vs Menat who otherwise can easily bully your shot neutral with reflects.

The V Skill buffs also play better into VT1 as it’s easier to get that last bit of gauge necessary throwing it out in strings or bnbs. Then you automatically can go for your safe activation to get the party started or save it for later. She can no longer cancel her df+HK so that kills her post activate EX KK df+HK V Skill setups. If you use VT1 then you still at least get a free reset if you have v trigger ready and land the df+HK and VTC.

In neutral usually standing shot. On wakeup after crouching shot or maybe raw as a throw bait.

If I land EX KKK I sometimes go for the f.HP reset and cancel from that.

No idea if any of these are good though. I feel like some people just never see it coming and others hit me out of it every time, no matter the setup. Depends how well they know her frame data.

You won’t hit anyone in like Super Diamond or up with a lot of her fake VT2 mix ups. Anyone with real reactions will blow up a lot of that fake stuff. Even Kazu was starting to realize that button to overhead was mad easy to see and started DPing it eventually.

The best stuff she has in it is if off of like meaty oki or just confirming into combos. Overly using it to fake people out in neutral or on block strings is just burning out your damage output with it any way.

Would be cool if Falke’s VT2 jump attack was more like a demon flip

IE you could do stuff out of it as opposed to being committed to a slow overhead with a trajectory that can’t be adjusted

Isn’t falke’s VT1 where she just blows you up with shotgun blasts for 300 in chip damage?

Feels pretty good.

Yeah the changes to her make her VT1 better also. V skill hits cleaner in combos and block strings and can actually absorb fireballs to build gauge for it. Her V skill works well with the trigger to build extra white and red chip. Building up enough of that chip is enough to get people in a panic and force them to take a hit.

Honestly right now I’m mainly using it similar to how Ibukis use f+MK- if you’re plus and think they’re gonna press buttons or tech a throw do it… And if you’re wrong, but they didn’t anti air it, you’re plus and still get to start pressure.

But honestly, the biggest plus point about it is how it actually gives Falke an oki game outside of the corner. VT2 activation and PPxxd.HP+HK both leave Falke close enough to force actual oki on the opponent. As far as launching a come back off a single hit is concerned, I I think VT2 may be superior to VT1.

As for getting it activated safely, I think the buffs helped quite a bit. You can activate it by hit confirming off cr.MP and f.HP now, and if you cancel into it off a PP anti air, you’re safe, even if the angle cause the entire Psycho Angriff to whiff.

Though yah, at the end of the day, all those things probably don’t quite make up for, “anytime, anywhere” VT activation.

Basically. Good luck doing that stuff reliably against top rush or zoner characters. Against those characters you need safe on block activations and those safe/plus on block activations only expand your setup options any way

Right now I’m only using VT2 against minus 4 spamming characters like Rog.

Falke gets real oki as long as you land an ex kk (covers both rises) or vt1 shot so VT2 doesn’t help much there either

I feel like the characters who put on a lot of pressure through chip damage get underrated in this game. Bison, FANG and Falke have some really good gameplans on making comebacks through chipping your life away and maintaing a lot of control of a cornered opponent. Guess because you can’t die from chip damage.

You can def erase a life deficit though.

Don’t oversell Diamond players, Trigger 2 overhead gets blocked in Super Gold already.

It’s still the ‘more fun Trigger’ to me thanks to better combo extensions, more damaging hit confirms, better AA damage. If I wanted to be super competitive I probably would run Trigger I but then I also wouldn’t have stopped playing ranked after Season 1.

Well unless it’s a meaty theyre already screwing up if they actually block it and take the plus 3. That’s an overhead you don’t want to block. It’s more of a frame trap tool than an overhead. If you have good reactions then you stop it before you have to block it

But yeah VT2 is typical win more trigger. It makes you better at what you already do, but gives at the trade of having inferior v trigger starting tools and not really getting anything new in neutral that’s strong. In tournament youd have only very specific characters worth using it vs.

Brazilians really have Lag No Jutsu game on lock. Specially when you’re comboing them.

@Bea_Iank Is this you too?

I play wired with 20 Mbps upload, which is the best internet I can get here.
But the amount of wifi players who have 2 Mbps or lower and play while using netflix and other stuff around here is daunting.
The lag is real.

I have used her VT2 overhead as a throw bait tool though, kinda of a air legs style move. I mainly like it for the PP anti air followup into added damage, vs characters that i won’t really need to get in on or use the low shot much against.

Its good that its at least useable now.

What the hell, did they nerf FM AGAIN?!

First they cut the weekly reward for doing the weird stage thing from 5k down to 2.5k…now it’s gone completely?!

And in it’s place, the ads get me…4 extra FM per online match?

So I’d have to play 600+ matches a week to make up for what they just took out…

Guess I’m not getting any more stages…

You can’t do 600 matches to get that much FM out of the ads.
It seems that the match limit is 150 ranked/casual matches, after which you will stop gaining AD FM till the next AD campaign start after xmas.

I didn’t know that I was under the assumption it was a daily limit wtf.

.It’s amazing how the fucking timer is mind game within a mind game.

Scenario 1:
You just beat someone’s shit in but they play like shit and you want them to know.
[Let the timer run out]

Scenario 2:
You just got bodied and you’re mad as fuck so you ready up fast as shit but then they let the timer run out.

Scenario 3:
You got beat by a god like player and you’re fucking salty but you know if you ready up they will immediately decline because (EPIC LUL NO REMATCH) so instead of doing anything you just watch the timer go down so you don’t give those cucks the satisfaction of declining you.
(But it still secretly hurts)

Scenario 4:
You smash on a top player that normally never runs it back with you and they ready up faster than Usain Bolt jacking off and you let that shit get to 2secs before you ready up just to let the fear sink in.
(You get bodied in the next set then they don’t run it back[/quote]

This…
