This is gonna suck to here but 99% of players you run into that aren’t master and up aren’t going to play footsies with you.
Its usually them feeling that they think you’re going to poke and jumping or trying to Crush Counter it. Then if you don’t press anything they’re gonna dash. The only other interaction is them trying to land a money button or just randomly flailing.
It’s footsies in a sense but not in the way you’re conceptualizing it.
Online plays out like a mini game. Can you stop this thing that the other guy is going to do. Its not the real game that gets played at the higher level.
If you do encounter it tho it’s a jarring experience. It’ll feel very different.

Old zeku doesnt do terrible against chars with long range normals but those that can shutdown his gram game easily such as sagat or balrog. As far as i know lk gram beats majority of long range normals in game and for those it doesnt the mk koku gram can replace it. Now that h gram is more safe itll be harder for people to punish it on reaction.
It’s just that in this meta old zeku zoning just isnt as effective as young zeku rushdown. Slow walkspeed combined with unsafe grams make his zoning and gameplan fickle and predictable.
Old zeku has better normals than young zeku, if you strictly look at the reach of their normals. Young zeku’s furthest reaching normals just has better utility.
I play all of them… I would say G and Falke are more fun, I like Cody but I feel the former 2 are more fun gameplay-wise whereas Cody feels too… linear, for lack of a better word

There’s no reason to suffer trying to win staying Old mode most of the time, at least not in SFV. HK Koku is now better on block, but it’s still an almost full screen tool, the others two are more useful even if unsafe.
Dunno about that,st.HP/st.HK/st.MK/cr.HK are amazing with YZ walkspeed. OZ has a ton of normals +oB, but felt stubby af to me, he’s still not the form to keep pressure with.
Nash VT2 is underrated and people has still problems at dealing with it, me included.
It’s better on block and it’s only 50 frames of recovery on whiff now. That’s only 1 frame worse than ken’s hadoken.
Mk gram is 48 frames of recovery on whiff which is the same as akuma’s gahadoken.
St hk and cr mp outrange y zeku furthest reaching normal which is sthp. Old zeku’s st lk also outrange any of y zeku’s lights and it has 4 active frames. St mk is + 2 ob and oh can be linked into dp. I wouldn’t sleep on old zeku’s normals.
That does suck to hear and you perfectly explained the stark difference. I was playing a patient ryu who wasn’t dashing like a madman. I immidiately recognized he was playing footsies and real nuetral hence why I figured I needed to focus on it more. Then a Chun player did the same. The rest of the day was back to the same ole shit. That’s crazy for some reason I thought once you reached Platinum and up the craziness would die down a bit.
A lot of directors will use quick cuts and shaky cam to hide lazy choreography, poorly executed action, stunt doubles, mistakes, bad camera work, or sub-par directing. I only ever watched the first couple of Bourne films, but from what I recall, the action scenes were well-executed. The way it was filmed was a directorial choice to make the action feel more cramped and brutal, it wasn’t a shortcut or a crutch.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, you have the likes of Taken 3’s infamous fence climbing scene, which used 14-15 camera cuts for six seconds of Liam Neeson going over a fence. Multiple camera cuts, the go-to solution when you desperately need to make an old man falling over a fence look exciting.
It never slows down. People are going to flowchart at every rank. Its just that once you fight people higher you get a better shot at them not being a nut even if you’re only going from 99% to 80%
