I mean I understood the question to be almost like - if I were to recommend a shoto, who would it be. It’s Akuma for miles.
He’s just all round safer and more powerful and has a spammy trigger to fall back on whilst having SF5 esk EX moves.
Like heavens cloud says he’s Ryu on steroids. He’s doing all the same things better.

Played a Blanka the other day in Ranked that did the glitch.
It was funny and i didn’t really care if he did it… it was jus mehh… Ok?
You aint doing rando Ex moves so im good fam.
That makes enough sense. Anyone who would play Ryu outside of Justfog or AMKIDD (your Tokidos, NLs, XSK Samurais) all went to either Akuma or Cammy. If you wanna low forward fireball people and have a shot at winning a tournament Akuma is pretty much the shoto you play for that.

For a new player id recommend Ken 100%
Blanka gets a time freeze glitch, and it makes him more honest, not less.

What do you guys do when Alex has his V trigger 1 going? I always end up bodying him until he gets it -then he goes buck wild with parries and there goes my entire life bar.

Grab his ass. They get so trigger happy with parry that grab bodies their shit free. 2-3 grabs they hold off and you can continue stomping his ass.

You grab him and then that resets the neutral though - at least with my character. I guess that works if he’s in the corner.
Seems like a really powerful 2 bar trigger if it negates your offense and tilts it entirely in his favour.
Why ken? They won’t be using any high lows or the target combos.
Unless you mean just spazzing around the screen at which point just pick Blanka or Bison.
Alex, Juri, Ed, great opening matches.

Now we just need a Fang for the full low tier house.
Anyone else get a sudden craving for milk?
Maybe it’s just me, but it seems that NA and EU players are routinely getting opened up by command grabs and overheads in these matches.
