I miss Vanilla Sentinel. 1.5 million which lost to Wolverine and Wesker. And give Wesker his counter super back CAPCOM.

I think Juri does pretty damn well against guile. Especially after his nerfs.

The sobat nerfs are a lot worse than you made out though, lotta Guile players now move to buttons like cr.mk, and upside kick over it because of the forward movement change.
I actually think Guile is pretty hard to play properly, fireball characters are tough to excel at.
I was hella salty when they nerfed Wesker’s counter super. Tasky got to keep his intact.
Vanilla Sentinel was a terror. Especially online.
Taskmaster was that dude, holy shit I loved that character.

J.S and C.M were the best buttons early on. 
They nerfed his counter super because he was deemed too strong. Yet he ended up being quite bad in the end. Dark Vergil was way superior.

2008 was still 2008 or 09 either way social media was still in it’s infancy back then. People were still using Myspace back then. You have tons of first hand accounts from vets about how the 3rdS community fucking hated 4 because it was slow and ugly etc etc. The reasons why it seems like it wasn’t hated on a ton is because:
- SF4 was probably your first SF you were viewing on a comp level
- You weren’t social media savy at the time
- You just didn’t care because SF is SF so you’ll play any game
- It was a nostalgia pandering entry that came out after a long drought with no mainline SF title.
EventHubs actually made an article on this where they actually found old ass posts from the dark ages that had people bitching about Alpha/Mcv2/SF3. All the bitching was literally, literally the same shit everyone claimed to hate SFV for minus anything that had to do with online play for obvious reasons.
We as consumers have a bigger voice than we’ve ever had. Part of that is entitlement because we live in an era where we want it all and want it now. But another part of that is because it’s not easy to hide bullshit anymore. Games aren’t made and shipped out complete at 60 bucks anymore. Now everything is a service and early access and yada yada. Now when some dumb shit gets found in a game people scream nerf because they know that shit can actually be changed with the flip of a switch. It’s why it’s so much easier to moan and bitch. That’s why dark ages niggas laugh at us because we all sound like bitches.

Yuck. I hated Tony in Ultimate. He felt awkward asf.
In Vanilla, everything about him felt so smooth. I remember going back to Vanilla just to test it out and holy shit that butchering was so mean. Felt like I was controlling a prototype armor.

Combo after super being nerfed was dumb, still didn’t get the health reduction thing either. People just hated him early on.
I miss Dr. Strange loops and Magneto combos. Ughhhh combos in that game were swaggy as fuck.

I got strider though, so it worked out.
Dante was fun to do combos with (I had a doozy of a BnB), but he was kinda dull to play. Needed that assist though.
