I still main Gief in ST and just accept that I will die to a Honda if I see one.
There is struggle and there is not being able to get in due to hundred slap and if somehow you get in, you get out grappled by oicho because it has no whiff animation and a good button will come out if they whiff it.
Sim is just god like in ST too, but far more fun to try to play against than Honda.
It’s old by now too.
Going to play SFV as soon as my main is patched in!
What they changed him/her, what the hell. Ok I adjust.
Nah can’t adjust this is BS, Patch this, buff blah.
Fuck it I go back to “insert other char here”
Also fuck this game.
The only people that care about their mains always being in are the ones that only play street fighter. If you started with SF4, with its 48 characters, and you’re about that “Where my main at?” life…might as well start eating glue while you’re at it too.
You know how shit of a character Birdie was when no one had a problem with his gameplay redesign. Birdie mains were probably like “wow my character actually does things that aren’t just shitty versions of what Boxer and Gief do”.
In SF1, he was a generic British punk. In SFA, he turned black for no reason. And in SFV, he became fat for no reason. I feel like whenever he’s in a game, Birdie is just gonna get a new gimmick/drastic design change and no one will care because it’s Birdie.
I mean, it’s really more the normal thing to just make new sprites/models for the other side any way. Pretty much all vs/crossover games the company working on the game draws the other IP characters. Even in a situation where it’d be easier to crunch the models over, historically they usually do their own thing.
