Sounds good but it’s complete bunk. The reason for America being okay with violence and offended by sex goes back to the Puritans. The Europeans that were uptight about sex and okay with violent fled to America. Despite four centuries passing by, they are still the basis of the our value system.

Well that always seems to be the case. Most of the Senator’s trying to Impeach Bill Clinton were cheating on their wives and got exposed by Larry Flint. This one senator was fervently anti-gay and he got caught trying to pick up an undercover police officer in the bathroom. Another one was cracking down hard on prostitution and he got busted for having a 10k a month call girl.

I feel like a big part of it is church culture is still pretty big in parts of the states. Like you still have the “Bible Belt” and that pocket of Mormons or whatever in Utah.
Between those and your everyday churches you still have some lingering puritanical values wandering about in the media. Of course everyone loves sex and nudity behind closed doors but there is a cultural peer pressure to hate nudity for some reason.

This is fucking stupid but the main thing is that brands don’t want to associate with erotic/sexual themes as much as they used to because it’s been deemed as taboo for some fucking reason.
MrWiz doesn’t give a flying fuck, nor did probably anyone on the stage floor. He did it so that any potential business avenues didn’t get cut from him.

Oh I know, my comment was more to the “it’s taboo for some reason” part.
“Think of the children” was the excuse I remember when R. Mika got censored (maintaining a family-friendly image I think was the specific wording but same difference).
