You definitely could have frame trapped and shimmied me a little harder when you had me in the corner. You would usually do like one throw and then back off and try to c.MK which isn’t very scary and gives Sagat too much room to press s.LK and push you back out. His s.LK is a really good defensive option once there’s a break in pressure so you can’t let him get that space.
Ryu doesn’t have big long buttons, but that’s nothing new. Just have to play your close game better when you do get in. Sagat IMO is similar to Guile where it’s not a great idea to just dash and jump simply because he isn’t throwing shots. Sagat has a lot of really good reactive options to jumps and dashes so you need to catch him throwing a bad shot or pressing a bad button to really make jump/dash HAM work. If the Sagat player is sitting in neutral and has reactions you’re probably not getting too many dashes or jumps without losing a lot of life. Which works out further in Sagat’s favor since even if you do get in it’s not like you have top tier offense where he cant wait it out.

I was about to close out with Ft3 and then the dude seemingly rage quit. Afterwards I disconnected from the battle lounge after getting ownership and then my CFN crapped out and can’t log back in.
Dude must’ve exited with the unholiest of rages to make this happen.

So many players trying to walk away from throws midscreen and eating dick for it. Go for the tick, and instead cr.mk xx w/es. Like clockwork against some people.
Funny enough I played a bunch of sets against a local guy a while back. 90% of the set was me literally dashing forward and doing blind cr.mk xx stomps. I wasn’t even trying to hit confirm anything, dude was just holding straight back midscreen. so after a bunch of games of him eating shit to literally that one thing. We stop, GGs and all that. The convo afterwards went like:
Me: Bro, you gotta watch your ankles. you’re literally holding back because of Ken’s good back walkspeed. You’re trying to walk away from everything and its getting you killed.
him: Nah man, all you do is dash up cr.mk xx stomp. You don’t do anything else.
Me: Why do you think that is?
Fighting games are tough. They have this weird dimension to them that is incredibly personal. Probably a combination of the go part of US FGC culture and some other things that leads to the situation RobTV described. I’ll post some thoughts on that tomorrow.

Shit ain’t change, it’s like this in most Western countries, it’s our nature. I’ve played fg’s for +20 years, but only with SF4 I started being serious at them. When I first entered in an Italian dedicated site I quickly learn what’s going on there. I’m used to ask when I don’t know something, but being labeled as ‘noob’ or ‘dumb’ by people I don’t even know personally was tough at first. Then I started lurking on SRK and take the DIY way, but only after showing off at tournaments and start beating these people even online I get some respect from them. Sadly some people get a chance to act like a bully because they’re good at >insert FG here<, maybe because they were bullied in real life. Asians aren’t flat out smarter than us, their culture teach them being kind and respectful, they don’t take advantage of someone weaker, but they always consider themselves as a group, a special family in our case. Look at Twitch chats when a player lose, that’s the part of the community impossible to get rid of.
