Lupe taking over
Given how neutral is played in sfv, would it perhaps be better to pick this v trigger just for the purpose of having extra v-reversals? I do think that vt1 is still better but I think vt2 in corner pressure and hard kd oki has pretty good utility.
Good, Ono needs to retire. He let a Guilty Gear spy corrupt Street Fighter. When SFV leaves beta, they should remove M. Bison, Abigail and Guile. AND BLANKA.
Time for some positive feels, because the pissing and moaning is getting repetitive.
I like how Cody isn’t bottom tier like in SF4.
I like how Cammy is busted, but she’s busted in the same ways she was as in SF4, so who cares?
I like how Guile players think they all that, but then you beast them in a Ryu ft5
I like how G is a nut, but a fun nut, and you can expose him just as hard
I like how it feels when I hit the (Kara) Tiger Uppercut because I knew this fool would jump
Kara MP Uppercutting through Guile’s V-skill is like meth on crack
Yeah that’s about it.
Also it’s pumpkin season soon, so get some pumpkin soup.
Maybe throw some goat’s cheese in there for some sharpness.
You know it’s a slow day for Eventhubs when they’re reporting something as old as this
Ono is still there as a General Manager. He just won’t have 100% say on everything.
Ban Ono from SF everything until we get Darkstalkers.
I hate SFV lifebars
I hate SFV hitsparks
I hate the music
I hate the grabs
Make Juri’s feet bigger
Cody has been threatening to join bison, blanka and rashid for my most hated matchups.
I still generally like VT1 better for Chun. 2 bars can slide on people to get party started, improves her fireball range and gives her multiple hits on her already solid buttons which is good in quite a few matchups.
This last round of this video pretty much shows off what I don’t like the most about her VT2.
This last round pretty much shows the difference between a strong 3 bar trigger and a mediocre one. Chun is in a situation where she’s getting beat up without landing any hits. Sucks that she wont initially get to build any of her own gauge with a CC or V Skill combo yet, but it’s SFV so at least eventually she will get hit enough and start to comeback off of a pop right?
Not really. Unfortunately he’s at that tipping point when he starts to land hits where he’s almost at the v trigger, but can’t quite get there yet. Partly because she has no go to button to throw that sets up crush counters or a V Skill that reliably combos off of anything other than her c.HP at near throw range. b+HP would be the closest for that purpose, but is short ranged, loses to lows and only meant for counter poking and can be whiff punished. By the time Human’s Chun finally gets trigger, he’s on the ropes in the corner and has to bank on a pop activate. Problem with that is if he gets counter hit before he gets the button trigger out he’s dealing with Karin who will clearly do enough damage on a counter poke to kill. With no oppressive CC to throw, easy combo into v skill or best a safe on block v skill/build on whiff v skill to force gauge build in neutral, Chun ends up in a bad situation that other 3 bar trigger characters dont have to worry about.
Compare that to like even Blanka’s 3 bar VT2. He has a v skill that reliably combos off standard bnbs and very easy to add in to a crush counter s.HP for more gauge. On top of having one of the better sweeps in the game that’s tough to punish at max range and 8 frame start up. Then compare to either of Urien’s triggers with his v skill/CC options and it’s just underwhelming for a 3 bar.
VT2 is probably the better overall trigger for momentum based comebacks, but it’s still a mediocre comeback/3 bar trigger. Enough to make it one of the reasons why Chun just isn’t worth it in top spot CPT outside of counter picks.
I’ve heard this point also made for Sagat, but apart from having 3 V reversals on deck at one time, wouldn’t the theory be that having a 2 bar vs 3 bar trigger technically give you the same amount of V reversals anyway? One bar starts recharging as soon as it’s gone.
Outside of the aforementioned burning all 3 at once.
I think having 3 v reversals is only a plus if you’re playing a character like Bison, Rog or maybe Ken. A character that clearly has the momentum to win matches with or without v trigger that can just keep burning v reversals if the going gets tough to get space.
Bison, Rog or Ken can burn through v reversals and still land a crush counter or combo outside of v trigger into ridic corner carry and put you in the corner. Which once that happens with or without trigger they can take the round. Chun just doesn’t have that type of momentum outside of trigger to make that reliable. Hence what happened in Punk vs HumanBomb.
I think Sagat has a really good V-reversal. I’m full on board with V2 now as well. I gave canon a good shot, but it’s def match up specific. Maybe Guile, Menat, Abigail? ( Thinking armour stuff), Dhalsim I noticed you can catch limbs. Birdie you can disrespect cans and bananas etc.
Not worth 3 bar, but may have some uses.
Edit: Is Birdies bull Horn still unsafe after V-trigger cancel? I just saw punk EX DP it, but I’m not sure if thats because Birdie just pushed something.
Iirc it’s punishable during VT1
Well shit. I learned something today. I had always assumed the trigger made that safe.
the blockstun is just weird because of the second hit, it’s still punishable
I’m pretty sure the head of the Monster Hunter division took the job as head of the fighting game division right after Monster Hunter World broke some sales records.
Long story short, the lag makes people going nuts.
He has the right idea
edit: SFV is a shit game but damn, no one should get so mad at a game that they snap their disc in half.
200 lp gained at ranked today. Stopped doing ranked the moment the “5 bars that clearly are 3 bars” Kens started to log into the game.
Practising hit confirms and combos on survival is paying off.
It’s not like you technically need a disc to play a game in 2018. If it’s anything like when Filipinoman broke his disc he’ll probably be playing next week any way. Sanford broke his stick which costed more than the SFIV disc did.
That seems to be the way to go about it. VT1 might help you get a leg up in the long ranged war vs other long ranged characters, but otherwise it just doesn’t improve Sagat’s toolset enough vs non zoner characters. He doesn’t get anything that makes him plus 4 on block or allows triangle air shots that put people in heavy stun like Falke.
Bonchan pretty much exclusively uses VT2 so he surely doesn’t see much value in VT1. Main problem with VT1 is that it does nothing new to help you open the opponent up and 3 bars is too long to wait for a trigger that adds near zero mix up potential. 3 bar triggers have to be unga or just not worth it outside of matchup specifics.
Anybody snaps their discs in half or sets products on fire because of their disatisfaction with a company or athlete should be locked away in a mental hospital to get the help that they need. You’ve already gave the company your money, you aren’t harming them. In addition to looking like complete buffoon, you’ve robbed yourself of the chance to get some of your money back by making the item unsalable.
