Compare MKX to Tekken 7 or SFV(or 4, I am generous) sales, see who wins and who comes up short.

The absolute worst of Street Fighter V’s animation is still overall better than the absolute best of Mortal Kombat’s animation, so yeah, we’ll keep acting like that because it’s true.
Furthermore, SFIV also looks (and most definitely plays) better than any Mortal Kombat game on the ground of at least having an art style, and SFV Ken still looks prettier than most MK girls.

SFV netcode is shit and gameplay is still mostly shit. Come April it’ll buttery smooth online and not stubby buttons galore for MK.

Gore is just one thing. I dunno that anyone over 15 cares about the gore really. Its just a part of MK at this point and it’d be strange if it weren’t there.
People like ninjas, monks and the kung fu movie aesthetic. The character designs have mass appeal. Thats probably the most important aspect to selling a fighting game. Thats why super weeb school girl anime shit cant be main stream.
Throw in all the unlockables and secret content and decent lore, and the game sells on a lot more than just blood and guts.

Honestly, MK is riding on the Gore.
The Character designs are garbage at best, their animations look like dogshit and the gameplay is clunky as hell.
Highlevel NRS games boil either down to Injustice Fullscreen zoning, that follows no standard 2D rules or MKs Unblockable Vortex.
Or you have SonicFox who picks one broken Pay2Win Char after the other, since the only thing worse in NRS games than their animations, is their balancing!

I’m not sure what the point of your post is. SF fans are the ones that complained about these things. The sad thing is the worst animating characters in SFV would be god tier in an NRS. Don’t worry we can keep acting like every other fighting game developer doesn’t get a free pass for shit Capcom would get crucified for.

Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat, the age old debate. Both have their charm in my eyes but i personally prefer Street Fighter, i just like the movement and combo sistem more, it feels better for me.
However, i hope MK stays strong and keeps going for years to come. Capcom needs competition so SF stays in good shape as well.
MK is already strong. Capcom is “the competition” not the other way around. MK is the market leader.
