I’ve never beaten you 50-0 though, you take games off me
The funny part is that not having an SOCD cleaner would make Hitboxes worse for Tekken, since having f+b as a neutral input can be used for a lot of useful shit.
Even compare it to SamSho which is not a fast paced game.
You still have good movement, the dashes in that game are super good. However, it’s offset by everyone having good normals, and the characters having a separate set of dashing normals (they can’t use their normal kit out of a dash).
But yeah, MK11 ground game is very good. My biggest complaint is that I think there are a bit to many advancing strings, and I’m not the biggest fan of the strings that keep advancing after the first push.
I am definitely trying to claw my way up from the gutter.
Especially at the start it was a lot of straight dunking. All part of learning of course. One of the reasons I like our sets so much is that for however much I work, you are working that much harder so I never get the chance to rest on my laurels (hell I don’t get a chance to put the laurels down at all let alone rest on them).
I’m kinda excited to play your Ken again. I’ll probably change my mind around the 4th Thunder Kick.
12 is utter shit
very true, but it breaks the ever living hell out of SF or any other 2d fighter
Yeah even with my general inexperience with other games I still feel way the hell worse with the movement + buttons in this game, for all the reasons we’ve been talking about for 4+ years now. Playing characters with “good” normals in this game still feels bad, playing the characters with bad normals feels damn terrible.
A significant amount of people really only want to land “dat hype shit” though. Gives more bragging rights than playing solid neutral, I believe.
I had the same general issue with SF4, and that game had much better buttons.
I think movement is one of the most powerful tools in fighting games. When you turn the knobs too restrictive it takes a lot away, and when you turn it too high you can create a mess.
All things being relative of course.
In SFVs case, as I’ve often mentioned, the animations feel like the characters are pulling their punches. Like they are trying not to have good buttons.
If grease could sweat, that would be Justin Wong’s skin.
Why is he so greasy? The greasy bastard strangler
Very great and appreciated post. Thank you very much Tables!
I’ll read that article after work as well. I love that kind of stuff. The Inner Game of Music (while not related to FGs) has great insight to how inner distractions hurt our reactions and ability to perform simple tasks we’ve practiced hundreds of times when the pressure is on. It seats very much into how to practice musical scales and whatnot, so this article will be interesting to me for sure.
@Bea_Iank, I hear you. The only combos I’m working on in are simple, confirmable, meterless combos, that work anywhere on the screen and lead to a knockdown with oki advantage.
I’ll work on spacing a whatnot in the meantime and will add more complicated combos down the road, once I have a better grasp of what I simply should be doing.
