Just look at the poll now. Them smash numbers are ridiculous. :joy:

Tekken 31% < Smash 52%

Bruh I can’t wait to see the numbers when the poll closes.

You all are weak.

Im in Asia and I watch all American Premier CPTs and Tekken world tour Master events.

Yes they can both be true. Millions of people buy smash because of Mario and a certain % get curious about competition. Then they watch Evo and decide that it sucks.

Which we watched happen with brawl and 4.

There was a huge controversy last year because the Evo champ played too campy and “made the game look bad” when that’s been the smash meta for a decade.

Have you seen smash ultimate viewing numbers at majors lately? Cause it’s shitting on everything not Tekken with ease.

What you’re saying is completely false.

I said in the past that I believe smash would break sfv’s 2016 entrant numbers, idk man it’s super popular. However…given that a month ago mr.wiz said that a game (obviously smash) had already 2K entrants now I’m not so sure because I figured it’d have around 3K+ by that time. But yea man smash is super popular and has a giant fan base.

Comparison to Brawl and Smash 4 don’t make much sense either though. Ultimate is a completely different beast.

The viewers aren’t dropping though. There are plenty of people interested in it’s competitive side.

There’s like 10% new content in ultimate

See now I know you’re bs’ing. They changed a lot from 4 to ultimate. At least learn something about the game before spewing shit. :joy:

There’s a reason melee players play ultimate and avoided 4 like the plague.

To be fair, a lot of that is because Melee was still a common tournament option. With Ultimate that is less so.

It’s a bit of a chicken & egg thing though. I know a lot of Melee players would rather still play Melee.

Melee is still seeing plenty action. It may not have the Evo spotlight, but that’s never effected that community for competitive turnout.

Also I think ultimate has had more crossplayer movement than brawl or 4 ever did.

in two years when ultimate is dead, it will be thrown in the same pile as the other two

Trying to kill games and declaring games dead is one of the FGC’s worst habits.

Besides, who cares if it dies later? That’s completely irrelevant.

It will die because it’s bad

So I don’t see the point in saying “it’s popular now because it hasn’t been on stage yet”

But it has been on stage, and streamed. And it crushed everything else.

I understand that you do not like smash, but it is the biggest and most popular game on the circuit right now.

I like and play smash quite alot

Then I understand your position even less?

Why shouldn’t smash close out evo again?

Because there is no correlation between how many people try a new game and how good it is competitively

The more attention it gets at Evo, the more people will see it, and the faster it will die

Lol Smash.

So first Evo doesnt matter, then it does, and now they want last on Evo sunday too?

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

So?

I’m not trying to be pedantic but… so?

If it dies from being bad, so what?
