I can answer this:

Mainly, the startup for these moves becomes much bigger. So with ed as an example, all his moves become slow. The only character that reall6 “breaks” that mould is gief with lariat. But for sf5, it’s definitely the startup time.

Range also has something to do with it.

I love her, she’s so much fun. I always play her as a side , but recently I’ve been wondering if she might cover some of Sagats bad matches. Menat I noticed in particular seemed to have a rough time.

Her movement is super scary.
