I had the best dream ever y’all. Today Capcom came out with a trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom EX. It had all our beloved characters who didn’t make it in Infinite, the game was beautifully cel shaded (think pretty like XRD), and the gameplay was as frantic as MVC2. Even had a bomb “Take You for a Ride” remix at the character select screen! My dream was sullied by the idiot who let me borrow his computer, which had porn viruses on it, so every time I wanted to get an additional look at the trailer, the dumb browser went where I didn’t wanna go. I think Capcom made the virus cuz we can’t see our dream come true lol.

It’s the same reason why I love charge characters. My hands are always charging and trying to do other things all at the same time. It’s engaging and ultimately more satisfying than any other mechanical playstyle I’ve come across in any fighting game.

Honest question: what are the balancing logic behind characters with special moves that are done with only button presses? (Falke and Ed)
We know charge characters trade doing specials all the time for them to be usually better in frame data compared to motion.
Are there benefits for button press archetypes outside of them being easier to do?

I think those specials usually get maluses due to their ease of use, they’re generally all on the slower end and very unsafe. And I can see why honestly, having DPs mapped to a single button is pretty huge.

The only real benefit i can think of is the reduction in RSI and for people with fucked up wrists. Similar to HitBoxes in that regard.
Its also a little easier to blow through frame traps on block if someone is autopiloting their strings. Nothing thats impossible with a traditional character though.
Other than that maybe going through projectiles as the lack of motion makes it much quicker to react. Thats a big plus of zonks anyway.

He’s so good. He always seems to know the optimal thing to do regardless of the situation. SF5 Bison will always be ‘his’ for sure. I think Daigo is looking for a secondary. His requirements were a) charge and b) high tier. Lord Bison fits that description pretty well.

Guile bad matchups would be Karin, boxer, Fang and probably rashid. After nerfs rashid matchup ain’t even.
