Sagat has solid punishes for the LP ball yeah? Good Blankas go past the LP ball flowchart, but good to have. If your reactions on point can uppercut before it hits you since LP ball is slow.
Actuslly he doesn’t , but of your AA is on point it’s hard for blanks to run shenanigans. Plus Sagat jump mp is easy to deal with Ex rainbow ball.
So much so the blanka player I play now does fake EX rainbows and holds back to bait me.
With the LP slow you can just st.hk. double hit, combo time.
Yup. Same as Falke. No ball punish on block, but LP ball isn’t that scary in this game any way and I can PP/EX PP on reaction abuse of it. Once you get them to start doing fake rainbows they’re shook.
Oh yeah didn’t think about s.HK. That’s definitely full combo.

I don’t think the match up swings on the LP ball stuff.
I think if you can punish it , it probably makes it a hard match for him, but if you can’t , it’s not game changing. He loses turn if you block. For me it’s just a good move , it’s not crazy.

Like IV the better Blankas run electricity instead of balls. They also play the ground game a bit better. Blanka’s buttons are short in this game for the most part though so easier to play footsies vs him than in the past. Button wise Falke definitely outranges the shit out of him and can whiff punish slide or c.HK pretty easily.

Yeah I find blanks slide unusually easy to whiff punish. The only real time you gota be on high alert is trigger. They’ll do like 8 slides.
Yup slide turns into OD good button once trigger hits. I felt good playing against Blanka last night. He went for LP ball into VT ball and supered him right out of the ball as he was in the air coming to me. He must have loved that.

There’s another one when they do EX ball mid v trigger ball and he floats for a second. You can CC that. It’s difficult though, you gota eye ball the shit out of it.
I think blanka players sometimes like the V1 too, people are getting better at stopping the V2.
Yeah VT2 is like any Marvel type BS shit. It’s more bullshit if you don’t know what to do, but less bullshit if you know what to do (but still bullshit).
I’ve seen Zangief players go for s.HP to CC the EX UP ball into VT “FADC”. He stalls long after the ex up ball that the punish should basically be guaranteed as long as you don’t fall asleep. They might be able to ball backwards out if you’re slow, but that’s cool they burn meter and you keep them away.
I’ve talked to Wolfgang about VT1. Seems better for certain matchups, but then Blanka IMO basically no longer is cheap with that trigger. VT2 is what makes him cheap so for most matches the better choice.
I remember him saying he didn’t like VT2 vs tall characters because its harder to perform good ball mixes on tall characters.

Tested it out, Gat HPDP can at least catch Birdie’s sweep at all ranges, maybe there’s a super pixel perfect range where it might whiff. So he only has to pull out the kara DP for Karin.

I haven’t played in a few months but from what i remember max max range birdie sweep will make hp dp whiff.
Fortunately i don’t think any Birdie outside of Fuudo would have that kind of spacing. Everyone including Mena is too Ham for that

Should be able to tag him if you just input it manually. Some tags just don’t show up in the auto list when typed out.
