I agree, the Akuma matchup particularly stands out as being more straightforward for sagats. But it remains to be seen whether S4 buffs is enough for him to replace Nash.

Oh her sweep is -14 now isn’t it, so it’s actually not that rough of a timing window, you get a bit of leeway.

I think Bonchan should. Karin and Sagat covers everything IMO except Menat and Menats are going the way of the dodo it seems minus the 2 or 3 that are hanging on. She’s like ST Sim. Cheap and shuts down neutral well, but you gotta go full in with her or you’ll give up. You have to make her your character and deal with her hardships and execution deals.

Lmao just had to check over his patch notes to see that DP change for karas, and I saw the step kick low kara cancel change
and in the developer notes they basically say “To make a visible difference between step low and step high, we nerfed step low”

Yeah Karin is the one to use vs Rashid, but I’m impressed by how not so terrible he makes the Rashid match look. That’s Bonchan.
Birdie would be good enough if that’s the only clear win. Sagat can also definitely fight Akuma, Cammy, Abi and Gief and would be better overall picks IMO vs them than Karin. Should work out.

I figured day one Sagat has the angles to deal with Sim. Not a big deal.
People assume the same about Falke, but once you actually main her and fight the match you understand you have a lot of options.

I’m not the guy who thought that, Broski is. He’s our best Sim so I trust him, he says it’s worse than Gief - Sim.
I doubt it. Bonchan I’m sure would be able to show that match is better than what he’s saying. Sagat can throw shots and uppercut at the height Sim wants to be and I’m sure there’s a range he can clip his regular fireballs with shit.
Sim has to play perfect, and we all know thats not possible. The fact Sagat has a DP make the Sim match not horrendous.

Typical US Sagat is throws 2 tiger shots, then jumps. If you jump at them they usually just block the first time. Only if they throw a low shot will they bother to uppercut.
If they’re standing still or just walking around not throwing shots, the’re going to jump

I dont want to disrespect whoever he has played against but topest level Sagat is hard to come by. I honestly don’t think the character has been shown at his highest level. Bonchan is a top level player but splitting time means there are going to be things he misses or does that aren’t optimal, that he would do if he was only playing Sagat.
Then there’s a bunch of good specialists who play him but they aren’t top tier players.
I guess we can only go off of whats visually represented tho. So idk.
Sims like blanka, horrendous match if you don’t know what you’re doing. Snap stick in half.
If you know what you’re doing it’s simply just “hard”.
