Because IF they ever release her profile, they’re going to do it with a symbolic number such as 99, 100 or 108. Abigail is still 97. That’s my guess.
But doing so would mean Shadaloo is aware of her, thus canonizing her presence in SFA3. I would have absolutely no problem at all with that, but you bet many members on this forum would.
Tomorrow will be Belger, probably. There are many characters still awaiting a profile: FF minions, FF2 and FF3 characters, some characters’ family members (Elena’s family, for example). They could still go on for a looong time.

I would take ten Sawadas over a single canonical mention of Ingrid. Street Fighter is a grounded series even though it has fireballs and wuxia physics. An omnipotent loli goddess does not fit the theme or mood at all. I love Mortal Kombat, but let’s keep the gods over there imo. Ingrid could work in Darkstalkers, even, but not here.

You guys think they would offer more cinematic stories if they have a season two? I kinda feel like if they don’t we might end up seeing some of the NPCs as Season 2 dlc. You know like Abel, Decapre, Azam, Sean, Helen and possibly Gill.

I’m not sure. Now, in general, I don’t like to knock other people’s interests unless it’s something serious, but I’ve posted my thoughts waaaaaay tooo many times on why I don’t like her and it basically amounts to her not fitting at all in SF and being a terribly over powered character who, with one appearance shifted the way psycho power worked, changed the ceiling of power in the world and basically offered no hints of build ups to her story. Just “tee hee, I’m the true wielder of psycho power, I look 12, but I can time travel and in addition to fire powers, I am telekinetic and am hoisting Sagat’s statue in the air with no effort buh byeeee!”.
It’s…just bizarre. Even for Street Fighter.

Capcom has a sungod already so please just give ingrid to phantasy star or star ocean or the tales of series because in all honesty that’s where that character would make sense in.
With that being said, with the current track record of everybody in sf5 being good I wouldn’t be too miffed unless she took up a dope slot.
It’s a combination of the lolicon factor and her being an ancient goddess so creeps can feel okay being hot for her.
I admit it’s - at best - unsettling being labeled a “creep”, “lolicon”, “weirdo” for liking a character. Then again, the reasons I like Ingrid are complex, and I already said I owe @“Darc Requiem” a post about that. Now I have time and could do it; but I’m asking even myself if it’s worth doing it, in a forum where nearly everyone just thinks I’m going to jerk off imagining her. Ugh.
They’re weeaboos. Simple as that. Japan is the only country where she’s popular, and the only people outside Japan who like her are into the same “Cute girls doing cute things” type characters.
You seem like a reasonable fellow. It’s unfortunate that the bulk of Ingrid fans don’t give off the same vibe. Just state your reasons, I’m not saying you’ll change anyone’s mind but you never know. It would be nice to have someone post a legit rationale for wanting the character instead of the uncomfortably suggestive pics that we usually get.
Agreed, you’ve seemed like an alright fellow to me, so I’d be curious to hear your interest in her. I’ve just seen people who range from liking her character designs to…obsessively drooling over her, so that’s poisoned the well for me even more. Her design isn’t bad, but it doesn’t fit wth SF in my opinion, is your interest more tied to the contradiction of an eternal youth balancing being an ancient figure or something a long those lines?
I wouldn’t mind sticking with the old characters if Capcom did anything interesting with them. The vast majority of them have been stagnating for years. Ryu’s been the same from day one. Same character, same moveset, same design. Capcom hasn’t bothered to develop these characters enough for them where there’s multiple directions for them like how Namco done with the Mishimas in Tekken.
