The new generation/apprentice ideas arenāt inherently bad, but the actual character needs to stand out on their own. Simply basing their moves off a more popular character and explaining it like that doesnāt carry over too many of the original fans. If Gen or Roseās apprentices were actually cool enough concepts to warrant inclusion over their masters, Iād be all for it.

Smalt Raven-** think a mix of Oswald and Robert from KoF + electric specials. Must feel professional and essential but still stylish/elegant. Conceptually C.Viper type of technical char with high mobility
Genās disciple- think a mix of Gen and Gato from MotW. Pretty technical but also fast, dynamic and kinda powerful. Give him 2 stances as Gen pls, be it Mantis/Crane like him or other two kung fu styles. Still want original Gen in btw

Kolin/Helen-** ice based char, heavy dependent on her powers a la Rose. Get unique (until Gill) āfreezeā mechanic, maybe V-trigger similar to Simās. Standard design as Kolin but Helen design at least as story alt
Roseās disciple- as male Soul Power user. Not good as Rose with his SP and without projectiles (or max half stage stuff), but compensate with better physical fight style. Use his SP at closer range, more to boost his hand-to-hand combat. As char think like TK7 Claudio, or a V. Rosso rip-off lol
Azam- Big grappler but not as power based as Gief, with more speed/agility vibe (kinda T.Hawk fighter archetype) and flashy special techniquesā¦ probably the ability to use tornadoes too, but applied on his grappler style, like using tornadoes as traps and launchers
Ed- only if at least one of his start alts isānt ānormal teenagerā boring bs, shadaloo alt pls. Make him a quick technical boxer + psycho powers mix (specially mobility and range stuff).
Cinematic hint that he may have some projectile/long range game, may be fun have him prefer distance combat and having quick combos made to give him the time to escape

Chances are, they wonāt be cool enough. So letās stop fucking with perfection like that. Bring back Rose and Gen, reinvent them, reimagine them a little here and there, but let them keep their integrity - do not retire them just to replace them with cheap knock offs.

Iād be okay with Rose stepping aside for an apprentice, but Iād really want it to be a woman. There are already so many male characters.
Of the 67 characters who have been playable in the entire series, only 18 are female: Chun-Li, Cammy, Rose, Sakura, Karin, Mika, Juli, Juni, Maki, Ingrid, Ibuki, Elena, Makoto, Viper, Juri, Poison, Decapre, and Laura. Thatās about 1/4th of the entire cast. Of those, two (Maki and Ingrid) have never even been in a main SF title on a major console. I wouldnāt want to lose one of the only 16 main-line female characters in favor of a male replacement.

Give them a fun dynamic and make them very different, with just Soul Power (and his total different version of some Rose techniques) as common point
Still a noob, like Rose is 80% SP and 20% physical, the disciple be 50/50 or even 60% hand-to-hand combat

Also male-female ratio is fine for a SF game, for the series standard SFV will end up having a nice number of females

Game really doesnāt need the ānew generationā characters, I donāt believe in Capcom to make new designs that I prefer over the old characters and this game actually lacks characters that play like Rose/Gen so no need to replace them. Handing a season slot to an apprentice character is just too soon. Iād want to see that at season 4 at the earliest, there are just too many fan favourites to bring into the game atm they have no room for it.
