My 2 cents

-Azam is the most interessing one, the fact that they given him even an alt, make him seem a potential candidate
-Nadeshiko having an alt is interessing too, make me think if we may see her as a char with Mika as Trigger/CA assist char
-Sodom new design is cool, same for Akuma
-they fuckin ruined Tom
-Eagle, Retsu, Joe and Lee seem ready to return
-Geki and Mike can become fun Vega and Balrog alternate costumes
-Ken pilot costume is good

Well, the Nadeshiko alt has a different name. So it’s either, like, her sister, or it’s just her heel persona. Because this other character hates R. Mika.

Unfortunately, some of their bios make it sound like they don’t fight anymore.

I think Adon, Sagat and Gen are all destined to make the cut eventually. Lee, Eagle and Goutetsu would all be cool as well. Retsu would also be awesome. Rose will also likely make the cut at some time.

There’s a lot of SF1 characters in those profiles (I think Capcom is testing the waters), but I’m not seeing a lot of love (or any love) towards SFII and SFIII characters. I imagine that’s because they’ve already gotten so much input from fans on the characters in those games.

I suspect that Capcom already knows who the big, big favs are, and a lot of these profiles are for the more borderline, should-they-make-the-cut-or-not characters. That would explain the absence of seemingly obvious picks like Oro, Sakura and Q, etc.

Additional theory: At this stage, Capcom probably doesn’t have the resources to make a bunch of concept are purely as a joke. This HAS TO MEAN SOMETHING, DAMN IT. With Season 1 decided, what do we already know about Season 2? (begins playing X-Files theme)
-Capcom actually bothered getting a voice actor for Oro and tying him into Karin and Dhalsim’s stories. I’d peg him as a lock for Season 2.
-Across various stories, we see speaking cameos for Sean (didn’t have a modern VA before), Viper, Sakura, Azam (new character), Gouken and Juni. All of these characters are possible, though I can imagine Viper/Sakura/Gouken’s VAs just being asked to record a little extra dialogue without having to be scouted out for a new project like Oro/Sean/Azam.
-Sakura, Akuma, Sagat, Q, Cody, Poison, Dudley, Blanka, and Makoto all did fairly well in the popularity poll and aren’t in the game yet.

For having both immediate importance to multiple characters already in the game and established voice actors, I consider Oro and Sakura as definitely coming in Season 2. That leaves 4 more slots, provided we go with 6/year (which I’m ok with). I think these characters are currently on the table for making it into Season 2, with 1-2 being made into full characters. Out of this massive list, what can we spot a few minor details.
-Rose, Haggar, and Sodom are all listed. You know who’s strangely absent? Guy.
-Eagle, Geki, and Lee all underwent heavy alterations. This is more than just a SF1 thing, as Retsu/Mike/Joe weren’t changed all that much.
-Rufus, Fuerte, and Abel were given bios. Even if we exempt Juri because she’s coming in S1, that leaves Viper and Hakan unaccounted for.
-With both Sagat and Adon on here, I think they do want to correct the lack of a Muay Thai character.
-Azam and Nadeshiko both got their regular costumes and an alt, something only shared with Birdie, Abel, and Ken. Birdie and Ken are already in.

Now, let’s try to assemble some interesting six-somes for Season 2:
-Oro/Sakura/Rose/Guy/Sodom/Cody
-Oro/Sakura/Viper/Maki*/Haggar/Cody (May replace with Guy)
-Oro/Sakura/Sagat/Eagle/Azam/Viper (*May replace with Lee, Geki, or Retsu)
