Very likely, theres stuffs on SF4 that depends on that aswell.
Well the PS4 version this beta seems to have the same issue with random spikes too during matches and training that probably has to do with matchmaking/searching too.
Today, the matches have been FAR more frequent and with far better connections, except since Ryu got posted I can’t connect to any games. Other than that it’s been great though.
Psycho Inferno needs a purpose.
First it got nerfed, but was made a motion input to compensate.
Now it is charge again, but is still nerfed. All versions unsafe on block. What is the point of this move?
Minor tip: If you want to block matchmaking for some reason, pick a mirror character for the dummy and turn on dummy recording. You’ll be playing the dummy, but the game will not match you up with anyone for as long as you’re doing this.
At least, that’s how it seems to work. I have yet to have this not work.
A few things from the PC beta:
- Fix the “slow-mo” problem
- When switching to “Automatic Setting”, the game freezes for a few seconds
- Weird visual artifacts on vs Screen on Player 2 Karin. Will post a vid later
- Birdies chain still clips on VS screen. Vega’s necklace floats.
- Allow quitting via keyboard (escape, alt-f4)
- Remember training mode settings
- Add Max Damage stat on attack data
- Add CA/V meter-build values on attack data
- Add SFIV’s “memory” feature
- Experience does not show for the current player on VS screen?
- Add a “simple” recording and playback feature. Right now it’s comprehensive, but very unintuitive and frustrating to record/replay simple things
- Game sometimes forgets my input settings after restarting
- Fix the input settings screen. Pressed button should replace the current setting, not clear it.
I’m very happy that playing online works this time around and how frequent we find matches, but I don’t like how Ryu got changed around to the point that he’s not fun anymore, and how unfinished Ken feels, the low ranges on normals doesn’t allow for a good footsie game, because the walkspeed is not fast enough to make up for the shitty ranges and all the technical problems @ilitirit mentioned need to be sorted out as well.
All in all the beta was a positive experience for 2 days, the first days were just frustrating.
The nerfs to Ryu in Beta 2 are fucking retarded.
I think Max said on stream that Ken really is an unfinished character at the moment, so there’s still hope for him
I feel like the game still feels too “heavy.” Granted I played Necalli for most of the time, but it still feels a bit too clunky and syrupy. I had inconsistency with getting my combos to come out and I felt like part of that had to do with slowdowns from either frames dropping or, if online, lag.
I also feel like there is slightly too much blockstun. When characters are both in each other’s faces, it feels like rock em’ sock em’ robots with big heavy, sluggish moves desperately trying to get a hit. I guess coming from Marvel I want something quicker and more fluid where it feels like the character is an extension of me, not that I am piloting some tank.
That said I still enjoyed my time and look forward to release. Hoping Laura feels good to play cuz that’s who I have my eye on (in more ways than one hubba hubba)
They have to fine tune the rollback netcode obviously. It’s good but it needs to be better.
They have to stop the emphasis on Jab, Jab, Jab frame trap shit. Give jabs more startup and take away the Jab into Special combos. It’s difficult to tick throw because Jabs have deceptively fast startup. Upclose the game devolves to: Jab, Jab, Jab, MP or HP, jump in again if they blocked, Jab, Jab, Jab, tick throw. I want throws to have 2 frame startup. I’m fine with getting rushed down. I’m not fine with some mook mashing crouching Jab and I can’t reversal it.
They need to examine the oki game on Quickrise. The player quickrising seems to have deceptive invincibility or something netcode related is going on. If I do a meaty on their wakeup I should not be thrown or jabbed out and they shouldn’t be able to jump out. It just devalues Oki completely.
Connections are a lot worse today. Funny thing was that it wasn’t slow or underwater. Instead it ran super fast. Wtf.
Game freezes after every Ranked Match. After results are shown (Rounds recap), I follow the prompt to press any button; the screen goes to black and the loading icon appears in the bottom right of the screen. It stay frozen there, forcing me to restart of my laptop.

Also, I cannot use my modded fight stick (PS360+) on the beta. I’m pretty sure this is just me, though. I’ve acquired Xpadder and am currently working on using that (which has been another story in itself).
That’s a pretty low-end rig dude… No wonder it crashes.
Yeah I’m still noobish when it comes to PC gaming. Any suggestions are welcome. Feel free to PM me if you wish
I couldn’t get my PS360+ to work as well, but JoytoKey worked so try that.
I have the same issue too, sometimes while waiting for a match in training. The game freezes and I have to log out/restart.
Good overall, biggest issue was not being able to use my Hori Kai 4 and my DS4 only worked because I have Input Mapper. Hopefully they are gonna add Dinput support in the third beta phase.
I had a goofy bug happen to me a couple times. Losing connection with an opponent before the screen transitioned away from training mode would confuse the BGM ‘rules’. It would then play ALL of the available streamed music tracks for that stage at the same time. You can imagine that would cause quite the ear-raping mess.
You need a better Laptop, bro. The processor is fine, but that GPU is straight garbage. Save your money and grab a budget desktop before March.
I’m surprised my rig ran this game as well as it did. I was afraid I’d have to upgrade my PC. I mean, it’s nearly 6 years old but I still don’t want to upgrade it just yet.
Specs are:

[] Intel i5 @ 2.80 GHz
[] 12 GB RAM
[*] GTX 970

Everything else is fine but my CPU is outdated to fuck. Still, it managed to play the game just fine.
