That fog was straight up EX level tonight, it was like playing Superman 64 (worse!) just driving through the Narrows parking lot. Good games tonight everyone! Man, Thad’s El Fuerte is a savage beating, good stuff
The thread needs this: http://blog-imgs-27.fc2.com/t/o/k/tokkablog/play.html?id=sm5895073

Dan Super Taunt!
I think MKvcDC may just nudge it out. You can defy gravity in that game.
Apparently the only Ultra cancel-able move in the game…

That would be so smooth if Dan was broke the game, haha.
Inoue makes me want to learn Bison/Dictator. He’s my favorite SFIV player. Everyone who was at Pablo’s on Mon. know what’s up.
Was that the unkempt dude with the street goatee but really fine threads?
I don’t know what’s up but I know that I need to learn another character.
It was more like a modern day Billy Ray Cyrus chic mullet with goatee and CLEAN shirt. TOO POWERFUL, no wonder he is good at games.
I guess what it comes down to is, are you interested in learning a character that’s readily accessible right now (one you wouldn’t have to unlock on the console version)? I know you wanna use Cammy. Are you still interested in Viper or Dhalsim? You probably should spend these next couple MNFs learning another character, just so that when console comes out, you can pick up a newer character. That’s why I’ve been using Ken so much lately. Just gotta force yourself to learn someone else.
This is going to come as a random post, but I wanted to target people who are interested in stepping their game up if they don’t feel as if it’s where they should be.
This link is just an entry in my SF4 blog that I made awhile back. This list helped me greatly and I hope that it’ll help others. If you can really take this list in perspective to how you play, you can kill off bad habits and maintain a focused mindset during the worst times in matches. Anyways, I felt as if this list here was the first step towards becoming a better player…it stepped up my game heavily, maybe it’ll help others.
MNF’s???
Nice posts Mike, lots of thoughtful stuff on the mental aspect of fighting games in there. I know I sometimes get caught up in trying to execute some particular trick, and meanwhile I forget completely about the fundamentals of strong play. That post of yours is one reason why I see a silver lining in playing against “scrubs” (not that I’m in a position to call someone else a scrub by any stretch, lol) - you won’t lose to random DPs/ultras/etc if your fundamentals are solid, so playing against less-skilled players is a good chance to forget about mindgames and all that abstract stuff and just go back to working on your basics.
MNF!!!
MNF is showing interest with the following people: Mandel, Nolan, myself, Frank, and possibly Cole. We’ll see who shows up!
good session tonight. Me killing time with chrono trigger and the fact that i forgot to charge my camera’s batteries ended up with nothing recorded tonight (yes i’ve already kicked myself) I want a roll call for who will be out for Feb. 16th’s MNF. I am planning on doing some more recording for the documentary and would like to have some sit downs with ppl in regards to the 1st SFIV console tournament.
Get at me.
Anybody heard about this yet? Nationwide gamestop SF4 tournament on day of release. I haven’t heard anything.
I’ve heard about it, but so far no news about if its going to be happening here.
Supposedly we’ll all be forced to use pads.
I heard Game Crazy is doing one too.
