If the score is 6 to 2 after the 1st round matches, then we move to the 2nd round with the remaining fighters. A team cannot win until they earn all 8 points (defeating all fighters from the other team). If the Americas Team goes up 6 to 2, then these would be the 2nd round matches:

Even is a team is down by a couple of fighters, one strong fighter can still win the tournament for his team as he must be defeated for the team to lose, even if it was 7 to 1 after the first round. The Ryder Cup tournament was to decide which region hasd the best talent/fighters.
